This is a very good story and I enjoy reading each chapter as you post them. Would love to see Bridgette surprise Ashley by finding out about where her mother and sisters are and how they are doing.

Abso-freakn'-lootly DO continue this
VERY good and you have storyline threads to explain.
What of her birth mom and sister? Clearly they were upset the dad got custody of Ashley, then assumed to be a boy. Why did they never keep contact or was dad involved with that?
What of the dad who abandoned her, but then she hated him just as well. One or both needs resolution.
As to happier note -- though the mom and sis could be a happy reunion -- there is her adoptive mom's wedding, the fate of several of her friends including some of the street rats. And Ashley's love life as she is a rapidly maturing woman and is on the verge of wanting to explore who she is.
Also will Ashley begin her formal her training to eventually become a therapist like her mom? She was very good helping that family so has potential.
And lastly we havve thje people ewwho have tried to hurt her. What happens to teh
Not all the loose ends need be answered, just enough of them to satify you and the readers.
I like the real world feel of this and do please continue as long as YOU are enjoying telling this tale.
Afterall it is your tale and if it is a chore and not a joy you are not complelled to continue.
But the writing tells me it is still a joy for you.

Threads and all...
Good to hear from John W again.
As you say Bridgette and Ashley have some risk and gain from contacting Mom and sisters. Bridgette could use third party contact i.e. Julio/Hector
Bridgette is not big on revenge, Dad is out of the picture, but strong on taking away retaliation her street attackers were addressed by courts and other friends
I like the story, but posting is for readers.

Jess, I really like this Story & Characters.....
I'd understand if you'd like to flex your writing on something else, but I'd love to read more of Ashley's world. May we have more pwease? (Hugs) Taarpa

Grounded
Ash may be in trouble & grounded but I think she did what she thought was right & she did save a life even a street person. She was lucky that Jeff didn't kill her. However in the process she saved one life & possibly even made 2 new friends with 2 kids.

Grounded, yes well worth it...
Ashley took the risk; her biggest surprise was how difficult it was to go back. I think her Mom also has the double emotions about what Ashley did. Good to hear from you again :)
