Bad idea
This is a seriously bad idea, so it must have came from the Senator Jeffrey Dolenz.
What I don't get
... is why the military is not sending in a battalion size unit to help take care of the matter or are they just chicken?
With all due respect it sounds too much like some Star Trek episodes or books where the Enterprise is the only starship around and even though the universe is one step from destruction, Starfleet can't manage to spare anything, even a corvette, to help out. I am just trying to understand why the Angels are so underequipped and undersupported in the field or does the government just consider them expendable.

So, just like always, someone in the Military/Industrial complex wants to figure out how she is made and make a bunch of money. I think I would have disobeyed orders.
If I was an Angel
I think I'd say, "To hell with that!" and shoot the queen in the head, until my weapon was empty. I mean seriously, what can they do, lock them up and not let them fight demons anymore? That would work really well; the KIAs among the normal human soldiers are well into the double digits by now, and the Angels have only lost one. They're the only game in town, the proverbial line in the sand, and I think they really need to develop a more assertive attitude when it comes to the way they're being treated.

I'm guessing that there's a shoe still to drop.
How did Martin Yavich end up female? Did he try to infect himself with the Angel strain after realizing he what he was turning into? Or perhaps that happened inadvertently, and he was exposed to both strains?
What if there were two queens?
Seems like there's a lot the Angels don't know.
And yeah.. bringing in a living demon queen? That's going to go badly for ... just about everyone.

'Seems like there's a lot the Angels don't know.' you say. well thats the military mentality I'm afraid information on a need to know basis (and don't ask how many could have lived over the years if a cretain piece of information had been given), but those that decide what to deseminate usualy have their own agenda either to winnat all costs or simply further thier own carrears.
And I just lost all respect for the Angels.
What kind of idiot follows an order that not only can't be in forced but has no positive reasoning or outcome possible?

An angel that wants her freedom, do not for get in the pursuit of a 'cure', genetic experiment are okay again.
That mean to a corruptible military complex you can do like species II and make a 'loyal' genetic clone of the super creature you could not control in the first place.
Take dumb or retard, and/or imprinted- individuals and Harkon virus A-strain. And semi-instantly, loyal to a fault 'improved' angels.
Do, not forget they are each geniuses in some form and know they have any freedom out of heaven or lock down via sufferance of higher ups.

Justifying an action that could cause extinction for personal
gains -- IE one's "freedom," is inexcusable.
They have put their lives on the line repeatedly for the sake of killing the demons. The soldiers around them have done the same.
Every one of them. Every. One. Knows that this is the wrong thing to do.
And I doubt a single one of them would actually raise a gun in defense of the order if any single person were to walk forward and finish the queen off.
That none of them do? The innocents who suffer because of it won't deserve what happens to them, at all, but EVERY ONE of these people deserve every last thing that happens to any of them for following such a BS order, that they should have known would come down before ever entering the conflict, and been more than ready to counter.
The Angels were willing to commit treason to keep themselves from being experimented on. Why not do it to save humankind?

Playing devils advocate ...
... On behalf of the Angels for a moment.
The Angels are 'PRISONERS' they live in a cage though at the moment it's a guilded one, they are given the illusion of control in their lives while they are needed.
Lets see they are allowed off base but only 2 at a time a psychological leash, as while the others are still there at the base, the 2 that are out will come back so there are no reprocussions. I know the reason given was '4 identical people ect. ect.'
If they attempted to go AWOL on a mission I'll lay billion to 1 odds that the rest of the troops have shoot to kill orders.
As soon as the demon crisis is over the Angels will become lab rats!!!
That still counts as putting theor personal welfare above...
The welfare of the world as a whole. And again, they've already made plans to go AWOL should they see that about to happen. So, that implies they think it's okay to disobey the government for their own sakes, but not for anyone else's.
No excuses, anything that happens at this point the Angels can -- and will, mark my words -- take the blame for, because they.could have ended it pretty much here and now, and didn't.

Best time for going AWOL
If the angels need to escape a mission would be the best time. That's when they are all in a group and armed too. A few weeks later in the storyline they might even have their own pilot with Julie.
Now that is F'd up.
They had the demon queen where they could kill her without more casualties and someone has decided they want her alive. This is not going to turn out well at all, I think.

I'm glad that the queen/patient zero turned out to be 'Doctor Martin Yavich' as I really doubt that Rebecca (and the Angels) would have been able to end the queens reign if it had been Rebecca's mother.
As we already know along with her DNA Rebecca also passed on personality traits to the Angels. Before the S*** Hit The Fan I kept asking myself this question 'Would I be able to kill my mother?' given the same set of circumstances and honestly I don't think I could, and I think that as Rebecca both loved and respected her mother I don't she or the Angels could have done the deed.
