For a story about pirates, ninjas, zombies + spiders
that one was kind of sweet. It had some really funny lines, captured the wildly random nature of kids' imaginations when they're at play and had that famous line from billy wilder's classic film. Eight thumbs up!
hugs, Laika
for the axe had convinced them that because his handle
was made of wood he was one of them.
This is sweet, the kids care
This is sweet, the kids care a lot about each other and accept one another. It's a shame that she feels she can't come out but she knows she has the love and support of her best friend/boyfriend.
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
Aww that was cute
And imaginative.
Lovely

Zombies, Rude-Ninjas & Pirates, Oh My!
I bet a pirate girl can teach a ninja some manners.
If she wants to that is. And do anything else she wants besides.
>i< ..:::
Pirates, ninjas, zombies, spiders, sealing wax and cabbages.
Sorry for the long delay before answering everyone.
I'm glad you all liked this little story.
I'll be honest, I read the challenge at 2am then spent an hour awkwardly writing down pretty much the whole story (minus spelling and grammar) on my phone before I could sleep properly afterwards lol.
I really liked the idea of it and how fun it was to try and fit everything in somehow.
Thanks for posting the challenge Erin :)
Thanks for the nice comments too everyone :)
I'm sure a pirate girl can definitely teach a ninja some manners too Hypatia.
If she even wants to when they reach a certain age and 'girlfriends' stop being something strange, confusing and gross at least lol
I'm starting to develop a worrying trend of writing cute younger characters aren't I?
Between the 'Coal-de-Sack' kids, Sophie and.. well the last one I'm sure the 'Magic is' readers will meet eventually.. :)
Thanks again everyone.

Make believe
The last part of this really cute, and funny, story explained the first part.
Make believe is a game which brings a kids' imagination out in spades. Yet, as time goes by, the kids learn it isn't supposed to exist as they get older. Only those of pure kid heart nod at what they hear and continue using their imagination.
Others have feelings too.
Very eloquently put Jamie :)
There's definitely something to be said about seeing the world through the eyes of a child when it can help you recapture your sense of wonder to some degree.
It's a hard thing to hold onto though with the world as it is currently.
Writing can be a bit like child's-play for grownups at times though, it helps you lose the world and focus on a purer, simpler narrative that you can enjoy fully.. that's how I tend to look at it at least :)
Thanks for the comment.
I'm glad you liked the story :)
