Wondered For a Second or So...
...whether Anna thought they'd be traveling to Portugal in the rowboat.
To me, she seems less prepared here to be turned into Charlotte's companion than she did in the previous version. Before, it seemed that her sense of propriety was the main thing holding her back, but here I'm getting the impression that she's nearly clueless.

Well, with the sailing times of that day, it looks like Charlotte will have lots of time on her hands in making Anne over into being a Companion.
One of my Canadian Aunts, after she retired from the Canadian Air Force was a Companion to the wife of a very wealthy Seattle, WA businessman.
They and she traveled extensively within the US and around the world during her 25+ years with them.
