discussion on why they race
I liked the discussion from Mand on why she races. When I was a teen I attended art school when that opportunity came up to get away from having to help my father on Saturday mornings. We all do things for silly reasons when young.

Poor Mandy. I hope Apolinaris picks her up long term. I don't see why they wouldn't want to with her being a national champ and all, but I also know that things don't always work out how they should. My fingers are crossed.
Politics!
Don't you just love politics...... NOT! I think it's more a case of male chauvinistic domination. BC would probably be falling all over themselves if Gaby was still a boy. But since he's now a girl, and still a better racer than most, BC doesn't want anything to do with her or Mand. More's the pity. Let's hope Dad can George(?) can come up with something to keep Mand and have her race under Appolinaris, because I really think she doesn't want to go back to England.
Bummer
Just when it seems things are running as a well oiled machine, a spanner is thrown into the works.
Does the BC board think they have a better chance at track racing over road racing? Are the BC racers better at track racing than road racing? Or, is it about finances?
Does is cost less to field a track racing team than a road racing team? Won't the track racing team still have to travel, which includes lodging most of the time? Is wear and tear on bikes used for tracking racing less than road racing?
Mand is like many who got into something just to get away from an troubled home life. Now, because of an unexplained reason, she might have to spend more time at home than she wants. And that is weighing heavy on her.
Others have feelings too.
