the storm that is!

Whilst down here in the south west of England we've missed the worst of the first storm of 'the season', we have still been affected to some degree. We've had wind, we've had rain but with nothing like the intensity of parts further north where record low pressure has produced 100mph winds and lots of liquid sunshine. More on that later.

So after Tuesday's 100km+ ride, on Thursday i went for a more relaxed effort down to explore more of Aquae Sulis (Bath). It was quite a pleasant day really, dry, bit of wind and even some sunshine as i explored around Claverton Down. I'd brought a couple of sarnies for lunch, i saw something on F/book about something i didn't know about so headed for that as a lunch stop. Sham Castle is as the name suggests, not an actual castle its an 18thC folly designed to look like a castle from across the city, i must remember to look for it next time i'm in the city centre now i know its there.

By the time i got back to the house i had 66km on the clock, not huge but i was quite happy with that.

Friday the weather was moving in, mostly wet during the day so i only got as far as the shops. Overnight the wind picked up and combined with the wet suggested not riding the bike. On the other hand it did dry up enough for a 6km walk down along the river so my exercise quota was fulfilled. On my return i actually sat down and started writing - if you read my post from last night you'll know already that i've made a start, well @ 2k words, on the 29th Gaby book. Patreons can see how its going here, i hope to be posting more through the coming week so if you want an advanced look at the new stuff you know what to do.

And so to today. As luck would have it, todays weather was forecast dry if a little blowey (@ 35mph) and being the first Sunday of the month it was the Hill Bun Fest! I had a nice little ride out, some excellent cake and avoided too much headwind riding on the return too. 67km this time, enough to feel like a ride without being a chore.

This evening, after cooking dinner, i've posted Chapter 16 of Balancing Trick for your delectation and delight, comments and kudos always appreciated!

That's about it for today, i'll be back midweek with more mumblings but for now,
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid
