Has anyone read an old book I came across

I noticed/discovered or was recommended a book on Amazon called "An Exchange of Souls" by Barry Pain. There is only one review that was German I think and the translation didn't tell me anything really.
It was apparently written in 1911, so the idea of a body swap story from 100+ years ago sounds interesting. Different societal norms, pre WW1 & WW2...also would be open to other suggestions of OLD stories like that, body or soul swap types.

"An Exchange of Souls" de Barry Pain : lié d'amitié à un étrange chercheur, le Dr Myas, le narrateur nous compte l'expérience de ce dernier, préparée de longue date, qui aurait du se limiter à la démonstration que le transfert de conscience est possible ; seulement voilà ! Sa comparse et petite amie décède des suites de l'expérience et Myas de retrouve prisonnier du corps de cette dernière sans possibilité de faire machine arrière... Une nouvelle palpitante et pleine de rebondissement et de surprises jusqu'à la dernière ligne..

Another comment states that Lovecraft was inspired by this (no other real information).
