has been this weeks weather!

Yep, its been up and down on pretty much a daily basis, cold, wet, sunny, foggy, almost warm - we've had it all. I changed my ride days due to wet on Thursday only to end up with wet and fog today, i usually avoid going out in the wet but it wasn't raining hard so out i did go. But i'm getting ahead of myself.

Thursday really was a right off, i did get a short walk in but i didn't really achieve much at all. Friday was better all round, a bit of sunshine, hardly any wind, i set out for a loop into Wiltshire with a lunch stop at Chippenham. I was feeling pretty good, maybe i needed the break from riding? Anyhow, i ended up extending my original plan a bit to take in Bradford on Avon and so ended the day with 103km and 900m of upness.

Saturday was almost a repeat of Friday weatherwise so i took myself for a bit longer walk along the Frome. I'm glad i did, i spotted an elusive Kingfisher and even more amazing got (an admittedly poor) photograph before it darted off. Certainly made my day, i celebrated with a hotdog with chilli before heading back to Chez Bell. It was still early so i ended up hitting the keyboard, the results of which are available for Patrons over on Patreon.

And so to today. i'd already ruled out a long ride due to the damp forecast so i settled on what became 44km of exploring the lanes that sit around the south edge of Filton airfield. Filton is of course home to Concorde but also many other aircraft both civil and military. I was a bit damp by the time i got back but sometimes you need a reminder of just how good those dry, warm, summer rides will be.
