with Aunty Bev!
Monday, as usual, was a walking day, a trip this week down to IKEA for a spot of lunch, then writing - or not! I didn't actually do any writing as such but i did make a few plot notes and can see where things are headed in the next chapters a bit clearer.
The forecast for Tuesday was damp all day, not riding or walking weather, instead, me and Aunty Bev drove down to see the famous Angharad for the day. It was a good day, we didn't set off back to Brizzle until seven turned! Which is where things got a bit interesting. It was still damping but that was less of an issue than the fog which dogged us every time we climbed above 100m ASL, often visibility was under 200m, at times barely 20m! It slowed our progress north a bit but as we approached the Avon valley things took another turn.
The trusty Transit started flashing warnings which manifested as a gearbox issue, it would change down but not up, with about 10 miles to go we were stuck in 1st gear at 10 -15mph. We crawled back to the house thankfully, just as well, i didn't have a rain coat or shoes suitable for hiking!
So to today, Couldn't be more different weatherwise, 6/7 degrees is almost warm, add sunshine and it felt Spring like. So i set off for a half decent ride out to the coast. One puncture, one burger and a surprisingly stiff headwind on the return and i had 93km and over 800m banked.
The van goes to the local garage tomorrow for hopefully a quick fix but then Aunty B lost her bike keys during her afternoon ride - more drama than Eastenders!
Tomorrow i will be writing and hopefully the parts i've ordered to fix Foxy should be here tomorrow too. The plan is for a ride on Friday - guess we'll have to see what the weather is doing before deciding where.
More from me on Sunday - probably but for now,
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid
