And as I am wont to do, I sat with her splitting my attention between reading and watching. To be honest, I have little interest in most of the awards, the sophomoric comedy of Conan O’Brien, or the vast majority of the acceptance speeches. However, I was watching when they remembered those who had passed away in the last year - with special attention given to Rob and Michelle Reiner, Diane Keaton, and Robert Redford.
Barbra Streisand spoke about Robert Redford, and sang The Way We Were at the end of the segment. While she sang, a photo of Redford was displayed in the background with a quote by him superimposed on the photo. The quote was not something I was aware of before, but it is very apropos applied to the authors who post on this site…….
"The world around us is in a sea change, and I think the glory of art is that it cannot only survive change, it can lead it."
For those who post their art here on BCTS, your art truly can lead the change. Thank you to all who share their talents and efforts here. You truly have changed my life.
