to this week
The big day so far was Monday, I took myself out for the day, an excursion to Street and Wells by bus. It was an early start for a full 12 hour excursion, seven till seven, half of that on buses crossing the eastern Mendip. Street for a look at the shopping outlet, i didn't see anything in particular, my only purchase 3kg of Haribo goldbears!
Back to Wells and the real purpose of my trip, a visit to the Cathedral and Bishop's Palace. I've been wanting to do the trip for some time, not because i'm religious, i most certainly am not, but for the architecture and history - there has been a bishopric here well before the Norman invasion in 1066.So i took in the Cathedral, the fully moated Palace and Vicars Lane, the oldest untouched medieval street anywhere. A late-ish lunch then back via Bath.
Tuesday was a bit more laid back, a 75km run out for a mucky burger lunch in Clevedon. A warmer, less windy day just to give us false hope - its back to cool and grey today! I've not done a lot today, bit of shopping and some writing prep.
That's all for today, have a good Easter if that's your thing, i'll be back here over the weekend,
Tschussie!
