Just for fun, I thought I would share a list of albums that rocked my world:
Klaatu: 3:57 EST -any band willing to make a song about the sad love life of a theoretical particle ("Little Neutrino" ) is worth listening to.
Supertramp: Crime of the Century - my first exposure to the idea you could listen to songs about the worst feelings you have ever had - and feel better afterward.
The Police: Synchronicity - as someone who has tried to write songs, this to me is one of the best examples of taking really high concepts and turning them into banger tunes.
Cindy Lauper: She's so unusual -somehow, she got away with making a song about masterbation. you gotta admire that.
Gowan: Strange Animal - more cowbell than most other records, and just plain fun
Eurythmics: Touch - I had such a crush on Anne Lennox. I still do.
Tears for Fears: The Hurting: Most appropriately named album ever. You know how some people listen to the blues? this is the pop version of that feeling - its pain and grief and finding a way to carry on anyway, because there is still beauty in the world.
Well, that's the ones I can think of at the moment. I may add more if I remember them.

"theoretical particle"?
The neutrino was theorized in 1930 from energy and (possibly) angular momentum conservation, by Pauli. It was discovered in the late 1950s. These days, there are facilities for detecting neutrinos. One facility, built in Antarctica, consists of many detectors drilled into Antarctic ice.
Interested in old humorous music? "Der Führer's Face", an old WWII propaganda song unfortunately apropos these days.

May1st was the Anniversary of Spike Jones Death in 1965
He didn't create The Fuhrers Face, but his recording made it a hit.
The song is a parody of the Horst Wessel Song (a Nazi anthem) itself believed derived from a World War I German naval song derived from a folk song.
The Fuhrers Face premiered in a Donald Duck propaganda cartoon.

Thank you
The person who did the music and songs for "Dumbo" originally wrote this song. Spike Jones's cover was released before the Disney short cartoon based on the song. It was such a hit that Disney renamed the cartoon "Der Fuhrer's Face" from "Donald Duck in Nutzy Land".

All You Fascists (Bound to Lose)
By Woody Guthrie is another good one. It’s gotten a revival since the rise of Trump and was recently covered by Bette Midler!

Kind of Blue
by Miles Davis is one I never get tired of.
