Yesterday so i must apologise for not posting until today!
Why was i distracted i hear you ask? (not!) Well it was that well known UK trope, the weather, yep we've been having quite a stew of meteorological variation here in the South West and the forecasting seems to be way off the mark. So Monday, forecast heavy wet - few light showers, Tuesday, forecast showers all day - one light damp then bright and sunny, Wednesday, forecast dry with sunny periods - persistent drizzle most of the day, it is supposed to reach the high 20's c this weekend, i'll not hold my breath!
Anyway, i planned my week around the forecasts, Monday and Tuesday writing, Wednesday bike ride - yeah, that worked out well. Okay, i did do the writing thing Monday and Tuesday, the results of that labour are up on Patreon and i'll be kicking on with more keyboard bashing this afternoon.
To be fair, i wasn't feeling very much like riding yesterday so i was never going to do a big ride but i had an idea and set off under grey skies expecting it to brighten up by my sandwich halt. Pretty much the exact reverse was the reality, almost as i stopped to eat my sandwiches the wet came in, a fine but persistent drizzle, the kind that gets everywhere, thoroughly wetting and penetrating everything. Given i was already in fairly low spirits, i decided to abandon my original plan, heading back across the city for a mere 30km total, of course at that point it dried up and the sun made an appearance - grrr!
Which is what distracted from posting here or doing much else if i'm honest.
Today is a better day, as i said, i'll be writing a bit later, this morning has been laundry and checking out my camping gear ahead of my trip north in a fortnight. I've only just realised that my tiny tent is 13 years old, a 50th birthday present to myself and a veteran of many adventures in Europe and closer to home. On the plus front, everything seems to be in good order, my bag liner does need replacing but will do for this trip, i'll get everything camping wise packed later today.
So there we are, time for an early lunch then i can get down to scribing.
