As I age, I find I am less interested in finding a sexual partner, and want to find someone who would hold me and stroke me, and tell me I'm a good girl and . . . I've become a dog, haven't I?

As humans age their sexual desire can reduce as the hormones subside. Of course, this happens to each of us at different rates.
That doesn't stop you wanting someone to hold you or to give you reassurance, that is part of the normal human condition. Your needs will likely change as you age as well.

Dogs have owners; cats have staff. Grand-daughters have minions.
Being held, stroked and told you are a good girl..
Yup, that's my "relationship goals" all ticked in one fell swoop.
Seriously, nothing at all wrong with that. One of my favourite quotes from "About a boy" says it all.
I wanna be with her more, I wanna be with her all the time, and I wanna tell her things I don't even tell you or mum. And I don't want her to have another boyfriend. I suppose if I could have all those things, I wouldn't really mind if I touched her or not
