and more from the May Queen.

So here we are, departure time for my trip up to God's Own County. Everything is packed, overnights organised and i'm about as ready as i'll get. And it's Bun Sunday so my route for day one will loop around to take that in before heading up into the Cotswolds ready to start my trip up the Fosse Way tomorrow.

It's been a funny week to get to this point, the weather has been quite mixed and not wishing to tempt fate, my physical activities have been fairly restrained.

Thursday, well i made a start on the next Gabysode but ran out of steam before completing it.

But i had a plan for Friday, a visit to another of the local National Trust properties near to Brizz, Tyntesfield. And so i rode the 20km out into North Somerset and spent a couple of hours walking the gardens, saving the house itself for a future visit. My original planning then took me on a loop across to Bath taking in a lot of new non tarmac but i decided to cut most of that out although my revised route still took in several kilometres of byways to add to the pot. Back to the house before a band of rain swept through, i had just over 60km added to the pot.

And so to Saturday. I had an arm long list of stuff to do in preparation for todays departure, an early start and on with the jobs, laundry, shopping, final bike prep, packing the camping gear. A short break was used to complete the new Gaby chapter and post it on Patreon then back to trip prep, sorting out the last few bits on line and packing some clothes. It's easy to overpack, however when you have to propel it all yourself, less is more - deciding what goes and what stays takes longer than just about everything else!

For once i was pretty much done well ahead of departure, a last few things will go in the bags this morning, et voila, i'll be on my way.

As promised i have put up the next May Queen chapter, number 8 in which our heroine , well you'll need to read it to find out what Daisy does next.

So that's it, almost time to depart. depending on wifi availability i may be able to dip into BC whilst i'm away but i'm not expecting to be able to do a proper post until my return in @ ten days.
