That most August month has arrived!

A word from our sponsor:

The Breast Form Store - NEXT TO PERFECT - NOW ON SALE

with the promise of at least a little H2O in Maddyville!

And we can certainly do with it, things are looking a bit parched and still there are stupid's both using 'disposable' bbq's, lighting uncontained fires and wait for it, washing pavements! For now tho, it remains just about within the comfortable zone which means i've been out doing stuff.

Starting on Thursday then, the much vaunted and delayed trip to the REME Museum over in Lyneham. The round trip came out with almost 1100m of up spread across the 117km ride, broken by the museum visit about mid distance. If you don't know what REME is, well its the UK army regiment tasked with repair, recovery and maintenance of everything from tanks to helicopters to side arms via all the electronics and bomb disposal gear. That's a wide remit so it was a little disappointing that more wasn't included in the current displays. That said, i enjoyed my visit but was glad i got in for fogey rate rather than full gate price.

Friday was a writing day, i got another Gaby chapter finished and posted to Patreon so i'm on target so far this month. I say month, as i sort of count this last week into August on the basis of Kindle payment schedules. Saturday was a bit of a different day, no writing, no riding but instead a little trip via bus to Portishead and then Clevedon with sea views and a bit of walking to celebrate Yorkshire Day (and give a nod to Switzerland too)

And so to today. Being first Sunday of the month, it has been Bun Day so i set off mid morning to join the cycle fest of tea and cake once more. Often i just loop back to Brizzle afterwards but today i instead headed up to Stroud for a light late lunch before climbing onto the Cotswold massif. 131km at close of ride with just shy of 910m of up thrown in - the notable thing was the speed, 24kph, @ 4kph quicker than has become my norm of late.

Of course when i got back i posted the next Daisy chapter, that's part 15 and the thick plottens!

The coming week is filling up fast with bike rides and writing, i'll catch you up midweek.

That's it for today though,
Ciao,
