Well, Sharon has told us that its confirmed that she will be going in for surgery, and so we will be hosting my daughter for at least four days - Friday through Monday.
This is going to be the most time I've spent with my daughter since we separated, and her mother is super against my transition and no doubt has pushed that view on Samantha, so I am kinda nervous ...

To paraphrase
To paraphrase a line from Jerry McGuire "Show her the love!" . If you show her that the person inside of you is still the same one that she used to see except the outside package is changed, I believe she may come around. Love her and respect her and you all will survive and maybe get close like you once were.

I do agree with everyone, it seems, in that you are still who you are and who you were. You brought your daughter into the world and the love you felt for her then can only have grown. Tell her that. Don't be scared. xx
