I got several compliments on my writing at church today.
On a day where I had been feeling pretty much like I was dead weight taking up space, I needed that.

Good.
Dorothy, it is nice to be appreciated for one's accomplishments. I hope those compliments brightened your day.
Congratulations!
It's nice to be complimented on one's writing. Should we assume we're referring to stories such as these here?
I have to admit that if I were caught by someone in church (or in my family, my work, etc.) having written my stories, I'd be quite mortified.
