In meditation, we are taught that whatever arises (during meditation, and also for other times) - it's just mental formations, with less substance or permanence than clouds in the sky. We just notice them, then let them go. We don't dwell on/in them; we just return to what we are doing: meditating, cooking, reading, enjoying our friends ....
