I'm starting to think I shouldn't drive anymore.
I had 2 scary moments driving today. I was in a turning lane that had a red light while the straight ahead light was green. And somehow both times all I saw was the green light and took the turn anyway.

Driving difficulties

Now that you have identified a problem you are way ahead of those who really should stop driving.
You have recognised two mistakes and I am sure that being conscious of that you will pay particular attention to the ramifications of such mistakes.
I don't think that you are ready to give up your mobility independence just yet.

The first step in avoiding a problem...
...is awareness that there is a problem.
Yes... turning left against the light was bad. Mostly because you could have been badly hurt or killed. That you're even aware of the issue tells me that you're ahead of the curve, though. I see people do that junk all the time and they just blow it off like it's unimportant... like traffic laws are just there to inconvenience them.
I'm libertarian minded, so I don't like rules and regulations just on principle, but traffic laws aren't about controlling peoples' behaviors... they're about not getting people killed. Your awareness of the problem is the first step in fixing it... because the last thing any of us wants to to learn that something terrible has happened to you.
Do you listen to music in the car? Try turning it off. Try sitting differently than you're used to. Move the seat back, forward, up, or down from your usual position. Yes, it can be uncomfortable, but it shakes your brain loose from habits and driving "on autopilot".
