It happens
It just means you're getting older, dear. I've had the same thing happen a few times, but it passes. When I was driving my mom home from Christmas together the other day, I was driving back and I couldn't remember where the right turn was... I'd gotten lost. (luckily Nevada rural highways don't have that many major intersections and it was inevitable that I'd get back on track!)
The mind is an amazingly complex thing. The fact that we can keep anything straight in it is a feat in itself!

I am changing phone providers to one that provides a full time GPS like ap for that very reason.

...isn't a sign of anything concerning -- certainly not at your age.
I took the wrong fork in the MacArthur maze at the East Bay end of the San Francisco Bay Bridge once when I was in my early 60s, close to ten years ago, and wondered about it, but I've never had another problem.
