The Flash - Fastest Woman Alive! Chapter 3
So, a variation of the original. cool.

Yeah, I spent a while
Yeah, I spent a while searching through a lot of female flash pics and chatting with Lynceus online and eventually came up with a mix of Barry's old costume with Jesse Quick's headgear.
Lynceus helped by writing the dialogue at the end with me. He wrote the Alena and Alison parts of this story.
Extra special thanks and kudos to him!
Fast and Fun
These chapters are short but that makes them fast. They move just like Barbara, the Flash.
I really like the story. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks.

Love the Chevy!
I like this. I do wonder that everyone seems to be taking this rather casually, but maybe the fact that they've all had to deal with it is helping them. I'm waiting for Barbara to start testing her powers, and facing a "villain". Good work!

Super Hypnotism...
And just in case you are wondering...

"This was the canonical explanation for why no one recognized that Clark Kent was Superman. That and it could be broadcast over television, and had a residual effect so people wouldn't notice it in photographs when he's not around.
Super hypnotism. Amplified by Plexiglass. Broadcasted over TV.
Honest. "
Superdickery.com just the site needed for the occasional inspiration for the
BSscientific gobbledygook you need.I'm not sure who is faster Flash or Alison.

"Running" Shoes
I don't know what the land speed record type cars use for tires, but I think Flash might need shoes soled with that material or something even tougher, possibly formed by magick!
As a (big, weak) bicyclist and an attendee at a few aerodynamics classes during the Neolithic period, also know as the Viet Nam war years, I know that there are physical/aerodynamic problems that super powers or magic are needed to overcome. A couple are: F=MA -> A=F/M, so, for very high acceleration, force must be very high and/or mass must be greatly reduced.
Also, force required to overcome air drag increases with the square of the velocity relative to the air. Air drag force is also proportional to the frontal area of the moving object and the drag coefficient of the shape of the object. If Flash's force field made a tear drop shaped bubble around her or moved the air as if there were one, the drag coefficient would be greatly reduced. If she stayed the same height, but became very narrow (viewed head-on) frontal area and drag would be reduced. She could just have the illusion of being her normal width.
The way she can apply force to overcome inertia and air drag, are with the soles of her feet, unless she has some other, invisible means of propulsion, like that of the supers that fly. For even moderate forces going through her feet, like several G's (Force = N * her own weight), the very best running shoe would wear out very quickly. This brings me back to the first sentence.
You can now see, I am talking or writing in circles. 8)

Ready for work, 1992.

Thank you!
I'll keep that in mind. She does have a forcefield but may end up running barefoot. :)
Which could be very yucky at times. :(
At least thanks to Jade she won't be naked. :D
My character, Billy Blue
My character, Billy Blue Blazes from Urban Renewal traveled in a bubble of time distortion. This had several effects including acting as a wedge to move air out of the way and having a dual or triple effect on not just Billy's physical self but his mental image of himself, and also on the physical and mental being of anyone he was carrying.
In Stoney Bottom, Jones has a very high metabolism and the ability to affect the apparent mass of himself and anything he is touching. This isn't apparent in the story but it is how his power works. He's not as fast as Billy.
I have several other super-speedsters in my Promethean Universe. Atalanta has a different sort of time-bending ability that allows her to phase out of this universe and actually run through obstacles. Starfall is a flyer who can move momentum/inertia from one object to another. Ultra-Violent uses drugs to achieve a high metabolism and a friction controlling power (similar to Jinx's) to create traction and reduce resistance. Avalanche draws momentum from the earth and is tough enough to just bull through resistance. Doc Spectrum turns into a hologram and projects himself along the path he wants to travel. Cometary uses the magnetism of the earth in some sort of handwaving way. :) And Captain Courage uses the Earth's Fifth Force to control his speed, strength and invulnerability.
My point being, there's more than one way to skin Zeno. :)
Hugs,
Erin

Feet coverings
The jet cars that set Land Speed Records use aluminium if they are British and aluminum if they are American for their wheels. The best rubber tires are generally rated is for 300 MPH or so. Flash needs some new shoes.
Footwear
Maybe ruby slippers? :)
I'll think of something, I'm sure.
Diamon cleats set in a titanium sole!
And here Giganta was worried about her property damage!
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause-of-effect...but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly...timey-wimey...stuff.
I'd say
Go with cold metal and use iron boots with titanium coating to prevent wearing them down too soon. ;)

These things happen to Elder Gods
They get kind of befuddled in their reclining years. Why else do you think Dread Cthulhu hasn't destroyed the world? He's puttering around the house in his bathrobe and slippers wondering what the hell is going on half the time, screaming for Nyarlhotep!
