Welp, after 5 and a half years, I have finally tested positive for Covid. In epic fashion- the 'test' line popped up immediately on the test when I dropped the liquid in. Like, five seconds tops. Between this and other health issues... yeah, my already-crap uploading schedule just got another hit.
rest assured, though, I am writing and have no intention of stopping. There are six chapters currently listed on the upcoming chapters page of the wiki, and I have another fourteen on top of those that are awaiting editing, including the first few chapters of the new 'season' of Soixante-Trois Airlines and the first chapters of two brand-new stories. I'm not going anywhere... it just might take me a while to stay where I am.
Thank you for your patience.

I hope...
... that it's a mild version. Best wishes. My brother got it half a year or so ago, and it was mild if not asymptomatic.

If it's Covid, Paxlovid
If it's less than 5 days after the first symptoms, you should see about getting Paxlovid.
Paxlovid, an oral antiviral pill that can be taken at home, is the go-to treatment for COVID-19. If you are at high risk for severe disease from COVID, and you take it within the first five days of experiencing symptoms, it will lower your risk of getting so sick that you need to be hospitalized.

I asked my GP about it but as I'm only (most days it doesn't feel like 'only') 44 I don't qualify for it. :-(
I'm feeling better today, thankfully. Not going back to work for the rest of the week if I can help it, though.

Got mine at Walgreens this Wednesday.
Along with an MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and first of a 2-part Shingles vaccine
All covered by my Medcare Supplement plan (a no premium plan btw in my case)
4 shots in one day, OUCH!
Take aprox 2 weeks to develop immunity so sooner is better
Best wishes to all

Covid vaccinations
Hi all,
I have been finding an ever increasing amount of literature and commentary by respected medical doctors and scientists along with commentators talking about 'covid vaccinations'. It seems, and this comes from Pfizer's own literature, that the covid vaccination was already known to be ineffective against the virus in 2019 even before it was 'released' at Wuhan.
The whole point of this exercise was an exercise in gaining control: think vaccine mandates, mask mandates, social distancing mandates and I could go on. The complete disruption of society as we previously knew it was the desired outcome. School closures, Church closures, any event with more than two people present.
You may call me a conspiracy theorist but in light of ever increasing information these theories are becoming more probable and possible. Think of 9-11. Anyone who dared to ask questions about the event were socially branded as conspiracy nuts, but a closer examination of the evidence and examination of the commission that was supposed to find the truth, is finding still more inadequately answered questions.
If you choose to continue drinking the covid Kool-aid, don't be complaining when supposed theories are no longer theories but something altogether different.

Followed the Covid 19 pandemic and pointed out that each reiteration of the vaccine gave less and less time it could be effective. Subsequently, my wife and I stopped with the third shot.

Can't Agree
I got Covid after my 5th vaccination. It was a very mild dose and I was OK after three days but had to isolate for seven to become non-infectious. I have since had two more jabs and no repeat of the sickness.
My understanding is that the virus mutates rapidly, just like a flu virus, so you will never be completely safe. My last shot was also Pfizer nearly three months ago, and so far so good. The vaccines also keep on improving. The jabs are not turning me into a mindless automaton. Masks are so Last Year.
I'm with Joanne..
I don't believe that vaccines were used to dupe the world into becoming microserfs. Why bother when Social Media does it for free.
COVID, however it was "created" is a nasty nasty bug. I lost both my parents in one way or a other to it.
I also have a friend who is a senior epidemiologist, and a seriously clever guy. He had the vaccine, and recommended anyone who he knew to have it.
When I did catch COVID, I was pretty ill, but I am sure that the vaccine reduced the symptoms.
The problem is that everybody has an opinion on vaccines, and many of those opinions are based on misunderstood fears..( remember the claims that vaccines included a "mind control chip"? ) rather than any scientific understanding.
If I am offered a vaccine for something nasty, I will take it, thank you.

what a long strange trip its been."
Define effective
The vaccines were primarily intended to reduce the lethality of the virus, not is transmissibility. They were effective on this metric.
Scientific consensus isn’t always right. Betting on contrarians sometimes pays off. So does putting all of your chips on a single number in roulette. It’s still a bad gambling strategy.
