A Flower's Bloom - Part 3
Jasmine is truly blooming like a rose after a most bitter winter into a spring of new hope. Or is she more like the pheonix of myth?
May Your Light Forever Shine
May Your Light Forever Shine
Nice chapter
I can't imagine shrinking to 5 feet tall. Actually, I like being tall. Oh well, I enjoyed this chapter and I can't wait for more.
I don't know....
As much as I would want a procedure like this... After hearing about the anomaly I would hope they'd tell me what I'd end up looking like. Not finding out that I was going to be a little person until just before they stick the needle in sounds very unethical. If I knew that I was going to lose 9 inches (I actually am 5'91/2") I would definitely reconsider this deal. I would just put my plans on hold and go the normal route after I finished high school.
But that's just me.
This makes me think of…
…Something Feels Strange, by TiffQ. Very similar plot.
Everyone I know
would like to be 5'9" tall like me, though I'd like to be shorter. Trouble is, I'd not like to be my present weight. My friends say I'm tall and slim. I think that they need specs.
Intriguing that this story is, I'm still trying to figure out 'why are the government doing this?'
Susie
This chapter is really amazing.
but Jill is right, you don't discuss girl reproductive things in front of boys, unless one of them is your husband. And even at that, it isn't talked about a lot. The changes are taking place slowly so the whole body can develop properly. Looks like Jasmine is going to be a pretty girl, and Cami's sister. I really feel sorry for Justin, because he can't get over how pretty Jasmine already looks. Makeup does a lot for a girl's appearance and her morale. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us.

Flower Power!
I have to say that I'm as excited to read A Flower's Bloom as I am to read Sarah Carrera, Megan. Your style and characters are always deeper than they first appear, just like the rest of us. That ability to paint in more than two dimensions draws me in every time. Where SC was sweet and supportive through and through, I can feel the idealistic exultations of Jaz crashing upon the rocky shores of indifference, arms-length acceptance, and bitter prejudice, bordering on revulsion. *sigh*
Nobody likes growing their hair out because the in-between stages are so hard to like or even do anything with and that is just about where Jaz is right now in her transition. Good thing she has someone new and someone familiar rooting for her decision every bit as much as she herself is.
I'm a little worried about her pride setting the stage for disappointment where her looks are concerned. There's no telling what the next sessions will do until they are done! She may turn out blue for all we know, hmm? Then again modern cosmetics can work wonders if you can afford them - and she can.
With such a great sister, a supportive staff, and her new BFF, Jaz has a decent support group. I'm thinking that she'll need them, even if Jaz feels that she's finally becoming the person that she always was inside, because wishing for something and getting it are two totally different things. The Cycle, the OB/GYN and mammograms - to say the least - will see to that distinction. Even so, wouldn't it be beyond awesome if it only took three days for real transitions?
A question I'm looking forward to seeing the answer to is, "Why does Justin's acceptance seem matter so much to Jasmine?" After the way he's been acting, he'd have been lucky to get the time of day from me, let alone any respect for his opinion.
Darn it. My bowl is empty 'cause I ate it all up. May I have some more please? 8)

Oh, that magic feeling - nowhere to go.
Stage 1
Not so bad, unless you count the rather extreme shrinkage. So internal changes next - not much to see - but it'll be interesting to see what happens in terms of Jasmine's plumbing. Justin seems to be increasingly accepting Jaz - and no doubt will continue to do so as the week progresses.
Just out of curiosity, how old is Cami?

she's tiny!
5 ft nothing? yikes!
Wow
I know that in 2026 government agents are butt heads; but Justin takes the cake.
