Letting Megan shine
I am convinced that it is high time for Megan to come to the fore for once. And I really hope that the school dance will help Megan to differentiate herself from Sarah. And so help to maintaine the two personas separate.
After the fracas that her manager (dad) unleashed on her with the "comittment" for Megan to participate in the school chorus and Sarah singing the christmas concert with the school chorus, and then the chorus teacher nearly blackmailing Megan over the assignments, it is good to see that Sarah/Megan is taking more responsability for her career, and making a stand for herself and her convictions.
So I really hope that Megan will be able to shine for herself at the school dance.

Sincere....
...sine cere...without wax...the best marble for a bust or a statue. She's about as marred as they come, in a way, but Megan is who she is; all other personae are mere expressions of the real person. The richness comes from the lines and veins that give the marble character; blemishes in a way. And all the sincerity and wonder and joy of her writing isn't Sarah at all, or at least not merely Sarah, but another honest expression of how she feels. While I appreciate all the great things that Sarah might accomplish, it's Megan...that part whom her family and friends know and love, that will shine through every time. Wonderful girl, aye?

THREE guys ask Megan to the dance? -- SPOILERS --
A freshman and two juniors.
What next, a senior? A teacher?
Thank Ghod it was a nice frosh, sweet/shy Paul and her steady and rather hunky friend Ethan.
I was afraid Jared or, gulp, Johnny was asking her out, Johnny the jerk hoping to get back in Sarah's good graces. Thought there was a faint chance it was the boy who helped her the first time Jared assaulted her.
Paul's efforts were so preciously clumsy and romantic. He has it bad for Megan/Sarah. But she seems sure though she likes him she is not attracted to him. Will Paul understand? Will he react badly, be hurt? Or will Megan discover she has feelings for BOTH Paul and Ethan?
O.M.G! Can you say teenage love triangle? But then Megan, though a late bloomer is exploding into womanhood. Bound to have a few... um, complications?
-- snicker --
Sarah's reaction to Ethan and his awkward asking her to the dance suggests they are beginning to see each other as more than just the pals they used to be.
Emily sure thinks so. I quote.
>>
"Maybe he wanted to go with you," Emily said while we were trying on the dresses that Avalon Sirocco had made for us Thursday afternoon.
"I guess," I replied. "But he's been moping since the summer. He needs to find a girlfriend."
I saw Emily roll her eyes as I turned to my reflection.
>>
I can hear Emily's mind in my own... "But he HAS a girlfriend already, you Megan, you idiot!"
I got the implication Emily sees Ethan and Megan as a couple even if they can't see it yet. I swear the moment Megan and Ethan ever kiss romantically will be the moment Emily shouts out "About time! So, can I be your Maid of Honor?".
-- grin --
For a moment I even suspected Josh but then does Josh know where Megan goes to school? He does know her house though.
And we still have Amber and other Megan haters to be concerned about.
Trying to drug her or embarrass her at the dance are significant possibilities.
Her career is taking off BIG TIME. After all these weeks not a top 10 but still #12 for You Can't Hurt Me. And Ever After gets back up to #2. Might just squeak into #1 with luck. And there are a lot of long-term hits, real powerhouses that were never #1.
Also a collaboration on another groups album and a song commissioned for a movie? WOW!
The movie people do realize they are hiring a 16 year old?
Nice.

P.S. The one of a kind custom dress MAY be a mistake or a great idea. Not sure.
Going to the dance that well dressed and made up will be even more proof that Megan was always a girl and a damned attractive one too. But it might inflame those few fools who would not be convinced she is girl even if they witnessed her autopsy. Be careful Megan.

Custom Dress
Maybe I read it wrong, but it sounds like 2 custom dresses, one for Megan and one for Emily.
Entanglements for Megan will
Entanglements for Megan will hopefully not end badly as Paul may not take "no" for an answer. But then again, she has Ethan as her shining knight on hand at the Autumn Ball with her brother Austin as back up. Why does this sound like a fairy tail?

I think Eathen has a crush
On Megan and that is why he is so pained when she said that someone wlse already asked her & she accepted. Maybe if nothing else the tow boys could go with Megan.
Emily & Megan are going to look stunning in thier designer dresses :) NO ONE at school will EVER be able to afford an Avalon :) it's ALWAYS good to have conections in high & some times low places.

she should have given Ethan first asking rights
He had stuck with Megan all the way back from being Brett and wanted to be more with Megan in the future. He is frustrated, his hopes squashed, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he attempted to off himself. Megan (The author) hasn't let too many of Ethan's emotions out, but from what I am seeing, this is very possible.
And honestly, I think she should have given Ethan first asking rights. Not doing that was like a severing of their friendship openly.
If only Megan could see her devoted significant other that is right before her eyes and supports her in all she does...

No, he hasn't
I didn't keep a count, but Ethan has cut and run on Megan several times. Summer camp is a good example. Rather than deal with Megan's life, he runs away for two weeks. He's the perfect example of a fair weather friend. I'd have chucked him way back months ago. He has repeatedly NOT been there for Megan. When Megan was going through life changing situations where she really needed the support of her friends, all Ethan cared about was getting what he wanted. The fact that he wouldn't tell anybody what he wanted just made it worse. Megan is amazingly talented, but she is not a mindreader.

I can't help but think of all the boys
Who will be kicking themselves in their butts when Sarah's / Megan's secret gets out.
