he has a ways to go yet, he is still looking at it as to how he can use this to manipulate things to his advantage.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out will he return to being Dan and will it be as a better person or will he self destruct, and he remains Elaine will his wife accept her back.
Old ways are hard to break...
Bridgette and Lynn understand it is a longer journey than Elaine realizes. There are a few cracks in Dan's facade, but the solution will need to be more than makeup thin. I agree he has a ways to go. The ramifications either way are likely to be life changing.

Elaine may have saved the
Elaine may have saved the company a customer by putting Stacy out in front as project manager, and she being made assistant manager, but from the comments to her in the car while going back to their offices; Elaine/Dan is on a very, very short leash. S/he definitely needs to get a real understanding of just how bad he was towards women generally and a few specifically, or s/he just might be 'toast'.
Elaine at best is delaying...
Yes she has helped save a customer and earn some company money... But as you gather is staving off dealing with her/his real problems. Stacy, Lynn and Bridgette seemingly are not being fooled... Dan is fooling himself but how so is a good question.
