Nah...
Fena wouldn't really do that to Hannah, right?
It would be interesting to see them take over the world though...
I like the "new" Thor... I had to look up the meaning of sodomised, and while that might be a bit extreme, he's looking in the right direction.
For once I am not even suspecting that someone who is not Hannah is having ulterior motives.
John's magic IS behaving a bit wierd isn't it?
Could it have something to do with Hannah's explosion back in the last arc?
Lilith said that Hannah corrupted Thor, but I think that Lilith might unknowingly have corrupted Fena as well... At least I can't remember her ever being that... clingy? Touchy-feely? I don't know... I can't think of one that accurately describes what happened...
Sure... She ended up tickling Hannah instead, but for a while there it was going a very different direction... And I'm not sure how much of that was fake...
Hannah's life is certainly becoming more complicated, isn't it?
Poetic justice for the would-be-druggers... My question is... How could they not know that it was the same drinks? That should be obvious right? Oh well...
In the future we have lessons with Thor and politics galore...
Drifting in the wind, to knowledge and idiocy both...
-Winlyn
(I have sort of run out of variations of onwards, so I figured I'd go with something else for a somewhat random, somewhat future-guessing thingamabob.)
Same drinks...
New glasses.
Toast!
Oh...
But if they were watching Hannah constantly then they should have seen John carry the drinks to the bar. I don't know about them but if I were to drug someone with potions of different varieties (not that I am particularly good with potions)
I would be very suspicious if my intended target's dance partner brings me a drink right after the drugged drinks disappear... Oh well... I guess we'll just have to go with "people are stupid"
Walking through the endless night, toward the light of comprehension.
-Winlyn
Nah... Same drinks... Toast!
Hiya Winlyn! Hiya Ray!
Looks like you sorted out the drink's question for yourselves almost, the last key bit of information to keep in mind is how people perceive Thor.
While attention is on Hannah, no-one really cares about John at the moment and no-one suspects Thor of anything :3
He puts it best himself "no sharper weapon than that wielded by one thought a fool", the mans so famously un-corruptible and honest due to his 'stupidity', him coming around with half-pint drinks to call a toast for a load of already drunk guys at a party is barely enough to raise an eyebrow to people who know him ;) lol
---
That bit covered, I'll go through the rest of your message Winlyn.
Can you imagine Hannah taking over the world?
Knowing her, she'd probably do it by accident and then have a ranting-fit while blaming John for her own mistakes moments later :)
I shall hold back on commenting on John's magic, but I'm glad you like Thor in all his (covertly) intelligent glory!
Something to remember about Fena which can be easy to overlook is how impetuous she is. She tries to control herself most of the time, and doing that was a lot easier in the confines of the shop, but she's out in the big wide world now and she's having fun.
While 'living in the moment' is all fine and good for fighting off Vampire insanity, it can lead to her doing things because they look fun, amusing or just interesting without really following the logic through of what she's doing.
In short, I imagine she probably watched Lilith teasing Hannah from across the room earlier and thought it looked like fun so jumped right in when it was her turn :3 lol
---
Hannah's life... complicated?
Powers' forbid! When has the poor girl ever had to deal with life being complicated, of all things? :)
I like your new little quotes idea, by the way.
I've been thinking for a while now that I need to sort out a proper tag/image/something for myself too at some point.
Maybe when ^Spoilers^ is introduced I'll knick that picture and use it instead or something? ;3 lol
Thanks for the comments as always Winlyn, you too Ray!
Glad your both still enjoying the story at least, drinks confusion aside.

Politics is
I must admit this series occasionally leaves my head spinning a little as I try to keep up with who and what everyone is not to mention relative standings in social and magical power. At some point I will find time to go back and read from the beginnings just because I enjoy the inventiveness and crazyness and out of control situations Hannah finds herself in. Till then I'll enjoy it on your weekly basis.
Time is the longest distance to your destination.
Magic is... complicated.
You are by far not alone Siteseer :)
You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've ended up having to do a quick 'Ctrl+F' on the printer friendly version of Season 1 to double check some point or other from long history as people and concepts are reintroduced lol
Not sure if it could help in the meantime before you can get up to doing a fresh read-through (good luck if you try it by the way, it's pretty daunting at this point!) but the Season 1 Catch-up PDF files are there.
It's not exactly complete (blame Hannah for that one) but for a refresher on the events leading up to Crater Lake and brief overviews of her main cast of friends etc at the time, hopefully it's a good way to lead in while only needing to read a few pages of writing :) lol
Maybe I need to look into doing an ongoing updated version of the Mages guide to Mages or something?
Not that that is likely to help much when so many people have multiple names at this point, huh? :3
Thanks for the comment Siteseer.
I'm glad your enjoying the new stuff, even if things can get confusing at times. If you have any specific things that are bugging you, you can always PM me and I'll strive to clear up anything you're stuck on as briskly as possible without Hannah's usual detours or prose ;) lol

No fair, Fena
You can’t say that after you start running, and with Thor and Lilith out of earshot. They’ll definitely want in on that action.
Gotta love the loopholes in the official decorum. One of my favourite ones that most people overlook (largely because transporting herbal repositories that keep your herbs fresh is horrendously difficult and expensive) is that if you hurt someone under the effects of a potion that they slipped you, you are immune from consequences (barring royal decree in royal court, le sigh) from your actions. So someone who is properly versed in herbology can add a couple small ingredients, change lust to rage, and as long as there is enough liquid left in the glass to test, you attack the person who sent you the drink, and poof, problem solved. Generally the potions already have the targeting on them, so you don’t have to worry about that. Fitting all that storage and the methods to properly prepare the ingredients into a simple clutch is simply too much work for the average mage.
It definitely would have been interesting to have compared notes with Al, I’m sorry that I had to miss that. One day, maybe I’ll be allowed back in court. Nova and I could be such good friends, and my dueling days are so behind me... I think. At least, I can’t imagine a reason she would challenge me like Destin had... except for his honour... I would just concede. Yes, that is what I would do.
Oh, and since I didn’t update on the comment on the previous chapter, yes, I’m recovering well. Though non-magical healing so slow; and given the procedure, I’m not certain I want to trust flooding any more energy through my lines than the trickle that I’ve been sneaking... shhh... don’t tell my doctor. I’m just a quick healer. Herbology doesn’t hurt either.
No fair, Cyarra
You got herbology training?!
That's practically outlawed in the states under the big anti-magical drugs act of 1898! Did you have a hedge-witch tutor or something on the sly? :3
While it's true that in Canada it's legally fine to bounce a plot back on someone, it's one of those situations where you are far ahead of your magical brethren to the South, sadly.
The MPA has a lot more proactive system in place, befitting their title of Magical Proliferation Agency; namely, that if no mages died or lost the ability to conceive from something, and magic wasn't widely exposed to the world without a way to cover it up, than it really isn't their problem... ^sigh^
(As an aside, I had a bit of a jolt with Trumps latest policies title the other day. "The USMCA"... one letter off from USMPA... don't suppose he's a fan do you?) 0.o lol
Keep an eye out if you have to deal with Nova any time, Cyarra.
She's not much of a duelist herself, in the traditional sense, but that girl is dangerous when she sets her mind to something.
I get the feeling half the reason Hannah keeps making snide little remarks about Magical Canada is to cover up very real fear surrounding them, their policies and just how far the Royal family (especially Nova) may yet go to get Al as a son-in-law :) lol
----
Meditation, medication, and covert applications of blood magic are all I can suggest to you, unfortunately!
Good luck keeping the Normal Doctors off your back over the elevated healing rate, remember the rule of thumb, if they question your healing rate claim you are descended from Vikings and have spent a few years building up your constitution in the Fjords while using some form of holistic medicine... poor Normals... they seriously don't know what to do when faced with someone who's got a possible genetic advantage in healing yet also believes in the resonant thrum of Reiki healing crystals! :3
Good luck with getting better Cyarra.
Glad the story could help cheer you up a bit at least :)

Both... kinda...
I don’t really know if she would consider herself a hedge witch, but she was definitely something else. By specialty she was actually a diviner or seer; though her knowledge in illusions and herbs was out of this world too, literally. By our terms we would call her an elf, though she insists her race is known as the Seelie, though she had a bit or water pixie mixed in on her grandmother’s side. Her name was Alleia Treemist, she said she came to this world chasing after someone, though her ultimate goal was to meet up with the tiny goddess, which is a goddess that was not of a world she knew. However, her divination told her she would eventually succeed in this meeting.
I’m not certain how she got here, but she has left us already. She also said that she saw she was to pass on knowledge that was lost, which is why she taught me herbology. I would have LOVED to have learned her divination skills, but they were innate, so they could not be passed on. So in a way, some people would consider it on the sly. Might be why some people are leery of me. Humans finding a fae that is willing to teach them magic is something that will make anyone jealous; and some mages can see through illusions, and see that she wasn’t a human as she pretended to be.
___
Vikings, eh? I hadn’t thought of that... if they press me too hard I may have to try it. Thankfully they have accepted so far that I’m just a fast healer.
Crazy older witches...
Seem to be pretty common in the magical world, don't they?
I'm pretty sure Hannah would term Edith as 'something else' if pushed to describe her personality, huh? :)
Aah, she was a half-breed from the British fae clans. Good on her for supporting the Seelie uprising, one of these days they will get equality and bring the half-human-fae hating Unseelie court to hand! lol
Why does this smell like a very interesting potential spin-off series in the making all of a sudden? ;3
Sorry I took so long to respond Cyarra, hope your still doing well.
Been a bit hectic over here this week. We've had to practically re-shuffle the entire house to make way for our Plumber to do a 5 day long remodelling of the bathroom/various water related parts of the house ^sigh^
I get to be the designated contact point this week as well (meaning I have to sit at home and answer questions for her if needed) so hopefully I can get some writing done while I laze around for an entire week at least, huh? :)
Nessa
She’s not crazy, a bit eccentric maybe...
Lol, actually Alleia is my character from an RPG podcast that I do with some friends, called Shift Quest (put out by googly beard games). However, since in the story of the podcast at some point they are literally going to be warping from their world to another (from DnD 5th ed to a different game system, but still keeping the same characters), it was within storyline to bring her into this world’s lore. Everything I put in that previous post is in line with her backstory, or her future visions. She is an herbalist and a powerful diviner. As of a LARP this summer, she was a member of the Seelie Court on her current world as high augur (It was hilarious, I did a card reading at the event for the princess, and for her future randomly pulled the “Empty Throne” card. By the end of the night she was dead to poisoning because the collected guests were not able to find the person who had the antidote.)
Don’t worry about how long it takes for responses. It’s not an issue. I hope you are able to have a productive week. I’m still doing well, and looking forward to Tuesday when I get to reduce the aftercare treatments from 4/day to 3/day. It will free up approximately 7 hours more of my day.
Crazy, but a bit eccentric...
Sounds about right when it comes to a mage of any sort really, huh Cyarra? :)
Sorry I took so long to get back to you, even if you did say not to worry about it. As you can probably tell by the slight delay on the next chapters release, things have been crazy and beta work hit a snag or two lol
Wow, good luck with the downgrade (upgrade?) of aftercare treatment! Hope it goes well and you can have fun in the extra hours you get out of it :)
If I said "The Chronicles of Cheesburgh" would my googling of googly beard games be along the right track?
I'm always up for a new podcast to check out while travelling, it sounds interesting from how you describe it at least :3
Some of the most fun settings to play with tend to be 'fish out of water' type deals where say; a high end mage from one universe is dumped into a world devoid of magic and has to survive without getting exposed, or a mutant who's considered a hero in their world being dumped into a world where everything is reversed and their alter-ego is a major villain instead... I totally don't have mothballed stories on exactly those two topics or anything ^cough awkwardly^ :) lol
Hope you're weeks going well and you like the new chapter now its up!
Nessa
"What? Please tell me she’s joking!"
giggle -snerks. this was fun, I needed this, even if it did make a dig at Canadian magical royalty ...
She's joking- I think?
Glad you enjoyed it, Dot :)
I'm sure some day Hannah will leave off on the Canadian magical bashing. Just console yourself with the thought that it comes from a rightfully built position of fear on her part and not anything malicious ;3
You know what she's like, if she's scared of something she just tends to get more mouthy and annoying in response to hide it, after all lol
Maybe some day all her Canadian Royalty digging will catch up with her and we'll get to see how Hannah reactions when someone ruins a perfectly good plate of Bacon with Maple syrup, on her behalf!
I can already imagine the grumbling, the growling and the endless eternal rants against philistines who would dare to try and improve her giant pile of breakfast Bacon... :)
Thanks for the comment, Dot!

the latest chapter
I have been following this story from the first chapter, and this one sit's IMOHO with the very best of them. I rarely comment these days but felt I had to, to tell you that this is one of the longest stories I have ever followed with full joy in each chapter. I enjoyed his adventures when he was a lad and his sister would dress him up to pass off as her, and his later adventures, and his transition to female, his many battles with previous incarnations, past enemies, and current foes. Wizards, werewolves, gods, and demons. I know I shoulden't but I find myself often laughing with relief when I see a new chapter, it get's rid of all my stress that has built up until I see the chapter. Sitting here listening to Rapping Rodney on continuous repeat reminds me of how lucky I am to have these gems to read. Poor old Rodney Dangerfield made his fame and fortune complaining about his life and luck, Hanna could give him some lessons, if she were real and he was still alive. In short, thank you!
I am a Proud mostly Native American woman. I am bi-polar. I am married, and mother to three boys. I hope we can be friends.

Thank you Wbstr :)
It's nice to know you're still enjoying the series after all this time, and even more so that you liked this chapter so much at the same time.
Knowing Hannah's story can help people de-stress like you described makes me feel like the (sometimes pretty draining) slog of writing it all for the last... two years, and six months? (I googled that one, wow, it does not feel like that long at all!) lol... is worth every second and cramped typing finger :3
Thanks again for the sweet comment. I'm glad Hannah helps you in some way, when her chapters pop up at least lol
...Oh Powers, you've got me envisioning a Rapping version of Hannah now!...
She goes on an disjointed rant to the beat for 3 minutes filled with many references to things being 'Stupid' and at the very end Mau comes out the shadows and lets off a very deep and impressive statement of 'Mau' before dropping his little microphone and walking away to wild applause :)
I seriously worry about how my head works sometimes, sorry lol
Thank you one last time for the really nice comment, Wbstr. It's made my day I think :)

LOL
Wow, I really love Thor. Hopefully Hannah can make some headway on her new new element!
Thor Love
I've got to admit, I've grown fond of the big lummox too, Ara :)
Sorry I took so long to answer!
Glad you're still enjoying the story.
