Androgynous Claude Cahun's 127th Birthday; (Google doodle)

Claude Cahun was featured in a recent Google doodle:
https://www.google.com/doodles/claude-cahuns-127th-birthday

"French author and surrealist photographer Claude Cahun—best-known for their purposefully unsettling yet playful self-portrait photography that challenged the gender and sexuality norms of the early 20th century..."
...
"Cahun’s work has influenced gender bending celebrities, the modern LGBTQ+ community, and conversations on identity and expression to this day."

Limits on front page?

Author:

Isn't there a limit on the number of stories a author can have on the front page at any given time? Right now a single writer is occupying roughly 75% of the front page. Can we get a refresher post on the rules, then a cleanup of the front page?

I'm having a terrible week

Caution:

Author:

I'm having a terrible week.

My step mother died on Tuesday after several months of failing health. My step father died suddenly the next day. I will be missing one funeral. I am flying to the U.S. for the other funeral. Just preparing for an airplane trip would be enough to make me highly stressed. (It's not the flying, it's all of the preparations.) On top of this, the natural gas pipe going into my home needs to be fixed quickly as the furnace is normally needed by late October and I will be gone for a week.

I won't be on a computer much until I am home on the 27th.

The effect of words and their often disproportionate impact……..

Over the time I have been on this site I have seen many an author, reader, or simply a poor tortured soul who has expressed themselves either through their writing, or through a posted blog. I myself have found it useful at times to post something, using the site to express my frustrations with some aspect of my life or society in general - or crying out over some emotional issue which is tearing me apart.

Error code 504

Author:

When I try to open my bookmarks on my account page the system processes for a period, then I get an error code 504 from cloudflair that the system has timed out. Does anyone know of a fix? I can access those stories that come up under the “track” tab but that is it. Maybe I have bookmarked to many stories over the years and overload the function?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Two more stories. One from MORFS Universe and the other from fictionmania.com.

MORFS:
In actual timeline sense it would be among if not the first in timeline. Boy becomes a hybrid squirrel girl. Her father builds a tree bedroom for her in the backyard.

'kin Firefox

Author:

So I had just about finished a long post with some pictures for you when Firefox decided to refresh and lost the whole thing.

As a result you won't be getting all that I wrote about my rides, visiting Imber and so on. There is a new Gaby chapter up, my desktop has blown up which is why i'm using Firepox on my steam powered lappy, here is a picture from yesterdays ride and one of me earlier - I didn't have any red dye so i've gone a bit, er blue!

Thoughts on comments

A bit ago it came to light that an author can request no comments be allowed on their story.
My general policy is if there are no comments, it means the story will not be read.
And if the lead in synopsis feels a bit sketchy or very vague, the story will be ignored.
An exception to that might happen if I am acquainted with the author's style from previous stories.
In years past, I have started reading a story only to find it wasn't something I wished to read for one reason or another.

New on Patreon

I've finally got my finger out and done some actual writing! Its the start of a new Gabysode that sits after Book 26 but i'm not sure where it fits or even if it fits in the following books. Anyhow, my Patreon supporters should have exclusive access to it now - not a supporter? well get over to Patreon, the basic package starts from £3 per month https://www.patreon.com/user?u=38088018&fan_landing=true

Have fun

Not a Fashion Expert

Author:

Ladies, it is a fact women judge women by their attire and their presentation. I can't be the only one who has studied girls and women all my life. What makes one outstanding and her friend or those around her part of the background? Sometimes it's one thing, she's wearing clothes and a color bringing out her best features. Her hair style accents her face. And so it is one or many things makes a beautiful female plain or less than and a plain female exceptionally attractive.

Another Olympiad over

and to be honest, I've not really been following the coverage but I do know that Team GB claimed the cycling crown with 6 golds out of the 22 on offer, 1 ahead of the Netherlands, the only other nation to win more than 1 event. Overall our tiny islands came in fourth behind the behemoths of the US and China with host nation Japan getting home advantage for third although with a smaller total medal count, the UK's 22 golds more than twice that of any other European nation. But as they say, Its not the winning but the taking part that counts - but winning is nice!

English is a Mess

Author:

It seems all of us have an opinion on words and spelling errors we spot in the stories we read. I have a few of those such as "your" (possessive) used in place of "you're" (contraction of you are) and visa versa.
He drove to (modifier) the park. He wanted to go too (also) soft adjective)
