An easy enough job with the weather we are having hereabouts this week!

But lets not dwell on the weather too much other than to say it's December, i've altered my riding programme to avoid the worst of it and, did i mention it is December?

So after the wet and wind since my return from Germany, on Monday i set off for one of my shorter, 60 ish kilometre rides which actually went quite well considering i'd not ridden for a full week. It was a bit windy, there was a tree down on the Bristol to Bath, but other than a few spots in the wind early on, it stayed dry.

Tuesday, when i'm usually riding, i instead ended up doing some FB stuff, posting to my Gluhwein Mug group for example, the annual update to my collection and hopefully other peeps purchases. Anyone who is interested in having a look can go here. Then, after a trip to the supermarket, i sat down to complete the new Gaby chapter i started before i went to Germany, job completed, posted to Patreon and on to cooking tea!

Which brings us to today. I set off for a half decent ride up into Gloucestershire (that's pronounced gloss-tur-sheer), something i haven't done a lot of the latter part of this year. The wind was still blowing quite strongly but it was dry although there was plenty of wet under the wheels as i took a windy route (not rowt, root!) northwards to Berkeley before turning into the wind to reach my lunch stop at Oldbury. I was just in time at the shop to grab a cup of tea to wash down my ham sandwich lunch then it was back to Brizz via Thornbury, my only traffic incidents in over 50 miles, 2 female driven cars not giving way at junctions within the last mile! Honestly, smiling and waving does not make it okay, if i'd been going slightly faster or been less skill full as a rider they could both have ended up with a bad result. Rant over.

Anyhoo, best bit of 600m of up and 82km covered felt pretty good and comfortable, the wind wasn't too bad in the end. When i got back i did have to wash half of the county off of the bike, not so much gloop as wet carried detritus pretty much coating most of the bike. I even needed to do the same for my boots, even so they are still more brown than black!

Then this evening, Aunty Bev cooked us liver and five veg for our tea, on top of a free cuppa (from loyalty card) at lunch, pretty much a winning day!

As for the rest of the week, well tomorrow i'll return to writing and make a Shepherds Pie, i also need to sort out Chrimbo cards and present wrapping/posting, then, if the weather is okay i'll take a ride on Friday.

That's it today, back on Sunday with more free Gaby,
Tschuss,
Madeline Anafrid
