European shift in tech reliance

Europe shifts reliance on big tech away from non-European and proprietary companies. (This is not directly transgender related, though indirectly there is some relevance. But many members of the BCTS community are tech savvy, and there have been many related discussions here before.)

Funny (but riskey) story

This short popped up in my YouTube home page. It is very funny, though you might want to be in the privacy of your home before opening the link. Even though there is nothing overtly sexual in the story and video.

Can We learn from history?

Can We (as in the human society) learn from history? Are We able — or willing — see how current events are eerily similar to events that happened over 250-260 years ago? Can We see the parallels of what happens in the present with what happened in the past, and crucially how the outcome of the past parallel could be a pretty good predictor for our own short term future?

News report for Gaby Bond fans

As many, if not most, Gaby Bond fans know, the Ahr valley was devastated by a flash flood in July 2021. Especially upstream from Dernau, via Rech, Mayshoß, Altenahr to Ahrbrück and beyond, the train tracks were completely destroyed and washed away.

I nearly chocked [to death] multiple times

Yes, I nearly chocked multiple time on a streusel cake today while watching Gidget S01E11 | My Ever Faithful Friend. I was repeatedly laughing so hard from that whole comedy of misunderstandings that I had to pause the video in order to recover.

So, go ahead, and enjoy some [more or less] wholesome entertainment from yesteryear instead of all the doom and gloom spewed by corporate and social media today.

Do you need a good laugh? Or maybe more than one?

If you are in need of some LOL and ROFL in these dire times, then I have a recommendation out of the archive of time straight from 1967 for you!

I just finished my personal struggle through The Flying Nun | Pilot | S1EP1 FULL EPISODE. My personal struggle is a) a very short attention span for movies and b) a whole lot of laughter attacks.

For all Gaby fans, who are also rail fans

For all Gaby (the bicycle racing champion) fans who are also interested in her adopted home, I have some new documentary video clip for you. As some of you may realize and/or remember, in June 2021 there was a huge flood in western Germany that was especially devastating for the valley of the Ahr river. Know in German as Ahrtal.

Modern day slavery in big corporations?

Here is a very interesting comparison between Europe and USA regarding employee protection, and whether big corporations are engaging in modern day slavery and/or worker exploitation. I have previously seen some individual reporting regarding these corporations, and how they are running afoul of European legislation.

There have been repeated reports in the past of Amazon Kindle stealing money from consumers. As well as Kindle being a proprietary and closed standard for content delivery. The underlying issue is not only restricted to Amazon Kindle, but any and all cloud-based streaming content providers.

Who controls the content that is saved on the cloud? Is it the owner of the content? Or is it the owner of the infrastructure?

The German Green Party has proposed the creation of “women only” train cars for the underground network in the capital city of Berlin, due to the huge increase of sexual assaults and rapes in the last ten years. This proposal has caused a huge backlash from most other sectors of the German society.

Another Mental Health self-help resource

Through the recommendations by the YouTube algorithm I “stumbled” upon another self-help resource that can help me with my mental health challenges. And I want to share that resource with the rest of our community here, since so many have expressed their personal struggle with mental health challenges.

A “Touch Starved” person in Germany

Today one of the “Random Solo” recommendations was Touch Starved by Bailey Summers (her main story content page is here). We would all do well read this powerful, raw and painful story. Despite the “Adult Oriented” rating this story is absolutely NOT erotica, graphic sex or porn, but just pure emotional pain and desperation, that fortunately ends in a glimmer of hope.

I need to be alone, but get sick from being lonely

I have been struggling for a long time on how to formulate this post on a deeply personal issue. While sharing this personal struggle that is affecting my own mental health, it is also a request (maybe even a cry) for help to members of this community located towards the north-west of Germany.

Rethinking strategies in a relationship that changes

Many of us who struggle with gender identity also struggle with many other emotional issues and even neurodivergence. There is PTSD, ADHD, OCD, autism spectrum, depression and anxiety, to name some of the heavies. That list is most definitely not exhaustive, but it contains the issues that are most prevalent and/or that cause the most collateral issues for us.

I had a very interesting video recommended to me by the YouTube algorithm. The video “Top 5 Benefits of Crossdressing in Public 2024” looks at both directions of cross-dressing, It also explores the individual and societal benefits of cross-dressing.
