Really bad itchy rash on my leg. Doc looked at it and said there was nothing for it. I told him it itched and felt on fire several times a day. He wrote me a prescription for a salve. Pharmacist filled it. Looked at the directions, apply once a week. I ask her if that was right? She called my doc and came back, he said that was right. Looking at the directions on the salve, "may be applied two to four times per day until rash is gone". I followed the directions on the salve and four days later it had taken care of the rash.
I know David (doc) isn't really fond of me as I'm trans but this was incompetent compounded because the pharmacist did double check. I have docs in OKC and Amarillo who are good as gold. I need to find a local doc who isn't biased. So what I wish for everyone to watch out for are those little indications your personal physician isn't that open minded.

Hope your doc has an instant cure, Dorthy. Rashes may not be life threatening but they sure can drag on life. If you don't get results, PM me and I'll check on the salve I used. (and the docs directions I didn't follow)

Even little things can become big problems if left unattended. I'm glad that you're going to see a doctor about it and hope it's not too serious.
