Did Megan get a little mixed up toward the end of the Chapter? That's OK, I still love the story.

Chapter 3.32 - Repercussions
In my mind, Ethan might enjoy those rumors, Megan got to wake up and smell the hunk next to her.
It was sweet what Megan did to Amber, wonder what the repercussions of that will be.
But the big question I have is, with you posting on Friday, is this an extra one, or replacement of Monday?
Talking to Amber
might have helped diffuse a volatile situation but it must weaken the barrier between Megan and Sarah.
If Amber starts thinking...
1) Who is Sarah's brother
2) How come Sarah knows so much about Megan and other people at school?

Well...
The official cover story is that Sarah and Megan are close friends, and Megan's also Sarah's PA. Given the chorus in particular have heard Megan sing and Sarah sing but not connected the two, never mind Megan knowing a lot about Sarah and being absent for the duration of Sarah's concerts, it's quite likely Amber won't twig either.
As for Ethan... ouch. Unfortunately a consequence of being in the media spotlight is that anyone of the opposite sex and of a similar age that you show affection to is going to attract media speculation of a relationship. In the immediate future, it's going to give him experience of knowing the media are writing about you but being unable to show any signs of knowledge / awareness so as not to compromise his cover as Xander.
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Sarah/Megan can be both good & bad for both, depending upon how they treat the media blitz. And Amber's news was a shocker, will she now be Megan's friend, or enemy?

Oooh! An early Chistmas present, Megan? !!! SPOILERISH !!
Maybe Sarah has defused the Amber bomb? Divorce, envy and a fear Megan will steal her boyfriend? How very high school normal. And how sweet of Sarah to console the upset/confused girl.
But as to the Ethan/Xander boyfriend angle. Is Sarah/Megan deluding herself? Is she trying to avoid contemplating the same possibility Ethan was so shocked by this last summer he ran away to camp to have time to think?

Excuse me, Megan, the fact Ethan left for several weeks of camp seems proof he DOES have feelings for you. He fought to defend you in school almost to the point of excess. AND now that things are more or less back to normal, you had a GREAT time with him at the awards. Plus you noticed looks from him boys who are *attracted* to Sarah have. You know from Emily he had a crush on Sarah before he knew you were one and the same.
IMHO Ethan's time away from her and the slow process of reconciliation has caused him to see his friend in a new light. It is like he couldn't see the forest for the trees before. But it is much like Emily said in response to learning about the old photo album with pictures of Megan as a little girl. With hindsight Megan was always there. Brett was the illusion.
Is Megan misreading Emily's expression? Was Emily's expression one of now *with hindsight* she sees there is an attraction between Ethan and Megan, possibly one that goes back to before Megan was confirmed as Megan? Does she see in their interactions of late that the two are already a couple, just they don't know it or at least Megan doesn't?
Ethan has re-evaluated Megan twice now. First, that Brett was never Brett but is this nice girl Megan who is also his best friend. THEN he had to reconcile Megan being the very same person that is the extremely talented and sexy sweet Sarah Carerra he had/has a crush on.
But they ARE both Megan. SO he must admit to himself that he might have a crush on Megan.
He sees that now IMHO, but is being a good friend first and not pushing things. Megan is very wrong in thinking he has no feelings for her other than as a friend. And I suspect she has feelings for him beyond just a friend but is unwilling/afraid to consciously admit. Her first concern about the whole Sarah Carerra/Xander girlfriend/boyfriend press speculation is that it will destroy her friendship with Ethan. She mentions nothing about being embarrassed or it messing Sarah up for other potential lovers. She worries only about their friendship.
I keep thinking back on the end of the awards ceremony where she does NOT win the big award of the night but all but tunes it out, basking in the undemanding love/consolation of Xander/Ethan.
The love is a quiet, almost mature love but it is there. All it will take is a little nurturing and FOOM! Full blown desire. The celebrity press may be jumping the gun to boost sales but there seems more than a grain of truth in their *relationship*.
And look at the school dance and how hurt Ethan was that Megan turned him down and how hurt she felt NOT being at the dance with him. There is something more than just friendship between them.
37 minutes to reach number one on the charts? Soooo disappointing.

Still think IF Thanksgiving is a big family get-together it is the time to announce Sarah Carerra/Megan to them. That or Christmas at the latest.
The whole Megan is a longtime close friend of Sarah and a personal assistant charade is working so far but will someday fail. Best to control the how and when and family must be the first to know to avoid hurt feelings.
The bit about the *fall out* from Sarah kissing George and Megan countering Austin's hurt feelings with photos from the fair was a gem.
A sweet Friday gift. I must attend my Uncle's funeral tomorrow. I have only one left now, my dad's older brother and his health is frail. This cheered me up.

Uh, Yeah...
Seems to me, the way this was written last chapter, that it was supposed to be clear to everyone except Megan that she and Ethan had relationship-type feelings for each other.
Glad Megan got through the movie song with the sound woman without feeling she'd lost control of it. Thought we might be due for another confrontation.
Didn't know that Sarah had told anyone publicly that the song was about her brother. There aren't any siblings in Sarah's cover story; it's hard to imagine international spies on dangerous missions taking someone in his early teens with them. And if I'm remembering it correctly (which I'm not sure I am), the song couldn't possibly be about someone with that kind of lifestyle. That'd mean "Sarah's brother" is staying with another close friend's family -- not out of the question, but a further complication, especially since you'd expect that Sarah would be in close contact with him to write that kind of song about him.
There are times when I wonder if a whole lot of people in and out of the industry know that Megan is Sarah but aren't telling her they know. (Hard to imagine, though, what would prevent the fan mags from following up if that were the case.)
Anyway, I'm sort of glad to see that someone at the school still remembers Brett's former existence. It really didn't seem possible that it had been completely forgotten, but it seemed to me we'd been given that impression.

When she played it for her school at the school concert, in chapter 3.25, she said it was for her brother.

I'd forgotten she was that specific.
I guess the cover story would be that Sarah and the brother are living at their Malibu home with a caretaker in their parents' extended absence. People know Sarah has a room at her friend Megan's home and treats Megan's parents as a surrogate family, but that wouldn't mean she's there all the time.

Glad the movie song went well. Now the truth comes out about why Amber dosent like poor Megan. Because her body is so athletic & is kind of popular around school & her bf dumped amber to try to get a shot at Megan who 1) dosent know him 2) dosent even want him.
Divorce can be a VERY messy situation & I feel for Amber she has a lot of problems & needs a good friend to help her through the hard times.

I noticed another possible surprise in the works
We all have seen how much Megan and thus Sarah think of Jane=es musicaal tallent.
II was re-reading this chapter and ... I quote..

I think that Holly and Sophie are amenable to giving Jane a tryout as the third backing singer to Sarah. They have worked some now with the corus and have had a chance to evaluate Jane as a singer/performer. What better way for Sarah to mentor and help Jane develope as a professiona singer than in her own band?
And maybe just maybe Amber wil become a friend to Megan? Who knows?
We did see a few ominous signs in Sarah admitting to Amber that there are people who hate Megan. That Megan lives in some level of fear every time she is at school.
Just her telling it as it was/is or forshadownig?
Even in this short chapter there is so much detail.

Leads with her heart
Sarah/Megan is always out in front with her heart and I think that's why she has come so far so fast. People, both her fans and others, see that. It's in her voice, her face, her music, and the way she treats people. That's why she pulled over and stopped when she saw Amber was in pain. She literally could do nothing else. 'You are my enemy but you are in pain, let me take some of that from your shoulders.'
Reminds me of an episode of M*A*S*H, when Hawkeye turns in the underage marine that lied about his age to impress his GF. As he is being taken away by the MPs he's shouting at Hawkeye 'I Hate You!' and Hawkeye quietly says 'I hope it's a long and healthy hate.' That's Sarah/Megan to a tee.

The best technique one can have, and the results are much more satisfying.
