I haven't had time to do the Recoverer this week, last week's efforts took quite a bit out of me. It's been a nice day and as rain is possible tomorrow I stripped and washed my bedding and put it back on the bed. It gets harder and harder, the stroke really reduced my strength and stamina. I have, however, started sorting out my wifi, so my phone is on it and also a newer computer using windows 11. It's very different and is taking up my valuable time. Have to take my car in again on Monday as my ABS warning light is flashing, it could be something simple but with my luck they'll probably have to rebuild the car around the particular wheel that's flashing, or causing the dash to flash.
I've been reading Tiff Shar's Dollar Runaways after the Bears book she did. She writes very well, but American writing compared to British is sloppy, American's can't spell names, Colin has one L, Collins has two, Leslie is man's name, Lesley is the female version, It spoils it a little for me and she also has one or two typos but it's still a good story that draws me in. So having criticised her writing, I would thoroughly recommend it as a good piece of fiction.

Well, nobody's perfect
Good to hear you are writing.
And that was a nice shoutout about Tiff Shar.
Luck to both of you and those you love.
BTW Averaging about 9F colder than normal recently in the Upper Midwest USA
Very little rain here in the Milwaukee Metro area the last few weeks. But then we did get a BIT the weekend of August 6 / 7. But no big deal. What's 6 to 12 inches among friends

Perhaps that is my issue?

We'll still be here whenever you get up to a speed compatible with your condition.
I suspect that the furphies in the writing may be as much due to the fact that proofreading these days is carried out using computer programming correction as much as any deficiency on the part of the writer. Personally I find Spellcheck et al. to be terrible tools. It may get better when AI is used. Who knows?
You and I are of an age when spelling was rigorously taught. It's not so these days. You have allowed the quality of the story (Tiff Shar's) to be the prime criterion for reading.
I Believe She Was Objecting...
...to US spellings rather than editing problems. I don't know of anything untoward there, except for one place midway through where she used one character's name while clearly meaning another. (Should've marked it down so I could PM her; she corrected a previous one that I spotted some years back where the agent's internal dialogue mentioned Ashley before learning her name.)
It's one of my two or three favorite long stories on this site; I'd certainly strongly recommend it. (Even though its young central character is about as Mary Sue as a preadolescent can get.)
