so a couple of days ago, someone left a bag of groceries on Sharon's doorstep.
She didn't want them, and we could find no info in the bag, so my mom and I took it.
It had about 150$ worth of staples like eggs, milk, and so on. So our normal grocery run was much cheaper.
I wish I could thank whoever left the bag, it really helped us out at a time when we are trying to keep Sharon and Sam afloat as well as ourselves.

Some is a matter of being ready while looking out for opportunities.
I keep some dollar bills tucked in my wallet, and behind my car's sun visor.
When I see somebody "playing in traffic" with a cardboard sign, or selling flowers or ice water, or selling packs of gum or similar - I have a dollar ready for them. I usually don't take the item. The pleasure I get from doing this lasts far longer than whatever it is they were selling ... And some don't even have anything to sell ... :(
Could I drop $100+ in groceries on a random porch? ... my budget says "no" ...
I do have a Very Good Friend who has been very helpful over the last 10 (yikes!) years. So I gave her and hubby a nice card and $mumble.
Seems the two of them are going to have a -Really Nice- date night ... :) :)
