Yep, the diagnosis is in, the days of my malaise are numbered!

After a quite miserable week, things took a turn over Saturday night, i awoke Sunday without the throbbing head, replaced by a bit of congestion but otherwise a mostly functioning bonce! But more on that in a bit.

So lets take a step back. Firstly, sorry i missed posting yesterday, i did try but i couldn't get onto BC to actually post anything, whatever the issue, it didn't clear until i was ready for bed so i thought it best to delay until this morning.

Since Wednesday the flu/cold stuff has been a bit of a mare, whilst i still had an appetite, actually cooking/preparing more than a sandwich was beyond me, Aunty Bev stepped up supplying chips one night and actually cooking liver and onions the next. Thanks Bev, it really was appreciated. In fact i spent a lot of both Thursday & Friday abed, i was mentally and physically beyond even watching a screen. Saturday was a little better, i was still a bit wobbly but well enough to sort myself out with a curry for the day's main meal.

On to Sunday, i awoke feeling a lot better and even at a reasonable hour, so i put my bike kit on and formulated a plan - an easy ride down the bike path towards Bath, if i felt rough i could simply turn back, its not got any major climbs and if i felt okay i could extend a bit. It was perhaps a bit cooler than i was expecting when i eventually set off late morning but even as i navigated through the hundreds of runners using the path for various distance races, dog walkers and family bike rides, i actually felt quite good. I did end up extending things a little towards Bathampton before using the 'high' road back to Bitton to rejoin the path, missing the bulk of the remaining runners.

It had warmed up a bit by now, brighter too and with over 40km on the clock my stomach was starting to rumble. A stop at Warmley put that right - you can't beat a decent bacon and egg bap with a cup of tea! Of course from there its only a few minutes ride back to the house where i stopped the clock after 55km. I was quite chuffed with how it went, it cleared a bit of head congestion but my chest was mostly clear, tbh its worse today.

Then i spent over an hour trying to do my Sunday BC posts to no avail. However i have now put up Chapter 17 of Balancing Trick so there is something to read for the Gabfen.

A couple of chapters ago, when Gab & co were in Berlin, Gab mentioned a rubber duck in a dirndl, one of you suggested a desire to see such a thing. Well as it happens, my brother was actually in Berlin at the time so, to avoid accusations of AI, i asked him to take a photo of such an avian. So here we go, a duck in a dirndl and another in lederhosen - you can't say i don't try to please right?

I'm just gonna grab some lunch then i'll be making a start on the next all new Gaby chapter, so Patreon supporters should look out for a new post in the next couple of days. I'll hopefully get a half decent bike ride in tomorrow and i'll be back here with more drivel Wednesday.

That's all for today though, so until next time,
Tak,
Madeline Anafrid
