Okay so we got a notice a week ago about the owners bringing in another round of roach control, and since I was sick and mom had her arm in a cast, we kind of panicked, but then we got help from Mike and Carol's handyman and we were as done as we could be this morning when we thought they were coming.
Then I looked at the notice again, and realized they are coming on Thursday, not today.
I mean, at least we are ready, but we could have done without the stress, you know?

Regarding roach control
It's easier to get rid of roaches permanently then exterminators let on. Go by the pharmacy (chemist's) and pick up some Boric Acid. It will be a fine powder in a bottle. Just sprinkle some around the sides and back of your floor level cabinets, behind your stove and refrigerator
It's toxic to roaches. They will eat enough to kill 8 roaches before they crawl back to the nest and die. The roaches in the nest will eat them and die too.
It will take about a week, maybe 2 and the roaches will not only be gone from your unit, but from the neighbors on either side. what's great is they won't come back

Happiness is being all dressed up and HAVING some place to go.

Boric Acid
If you have pets, don't use it where they can get to it - best be safe. It is toxic.
At the time this happened ...
A friend and her hubby lived in a multi-unit apartment building.
The tenants had to synchronize spraying, because all that spraying did was make the roaches move into the apartment of whoever did not spray.
My friend also owned a pet store. So obtaining and releasing three geckos into the building was not a problem.
Gekkos have three main calls: gekko-gekko-gekko; TOE-kay-Toe-Kay. The last call rhymes with the last name of a famous Disney waterfowl, first name Donald, second part rhyming with what we call a female sheep.

When my friends moved out of the by-then remarkably roach free building, the gekkos had started to breed ...
Donald
Um, okay. I may have managed to decipher that third call, not at all sure.

Gekkos ...
A female sheep an ewe, pronounced "yoo"; Donald's last name is Duck. So:
Duck Ewe.
Yeah
Yes, I finally figured that out.
