I can point to reasons for hope, even in dark times. I can point to people who make me hopeful, like Mark Carney, the Leader of the Free World.

But hope isn’t about reasons, or about reason itself. Not really. It’s a decision to believe in a better future, even in the face of long odds. And so the only place to find hope, as opposed to “reasons for hope,” is within.

In the short time and limited space where I’ve known you, I’ve been floored by your radical candor. You’re willing to let your vulnerability show. I’ve never had that kind of strength myself. So I have faith that you, of all people, will find hope when you search your own heart.
