The Innocent Ones Are The Ones Who Get Hurt Chapter 13

The Warehouse District Around Midnight:
Raven looks through her specialized scope as her sisters arrive at the warehouse where they scouted earlier in the day. Their thermal images were showing up clear, even through the unique outfit Amber had given Eddie. Her earpiece was on the same frequency as Eddie’ and Amber’s.

The ride through the industrial complex had turned into a group of female riders that had joined them. Women they knew from other clubs in the area had heard or spotted her and Eddie out riding and joined them. They had over twenty female riders as they rode throughout the city and the complex. The camera system built into Raven’s high-tech helmet recorded the whole ride and the buildings they rode by.

Now Raven watched her sisters from the tallest building in the industrial complex. She brought her Marine-issued specialized sniper rifle. She had two issued to her and lost the first one in the ambush. The second one had been in the armory, and she managed to take it with her when she left the service.

Since the sniping rifle was made for her, no one else could use it. Raven continued to watch her sisters. The thermal didn’t show anyone inside the warehouse.

“You’re all clear, sis.” Raven kept her sisters in her sights.

“Roger!” Eddie looked toward Amber and gave her a thumbs up.

Amber hooked her electronic scanner up to the electronic keypad and let it do its job. Once the device has done its job, the door clicks open.

“Let’s go and play.” Amber sneaks in first.

Eddie follows behind her twin. Both ladies knew Raven was watching from her perch. They locate the drones that were being stored in the warehouse. Amber digs into her goodie bag and starts tagging all the containers. She starts applying all the specialized tracking tags she brought with her.

As for the drone parts, she sprays them with an invisible dust that the company she works for developed. The cyber division back at headquarters could track the parts no matter where they go. Eddie searched more while Amber planted her tags and tracking spray.

“Amber, do you have any more of that spray and tags?” Eddie spotted weapons she couldn’t believe existed.

“What did you find, sis?” Amber walked over to where Eddie was standing.

“This.” Eddie held up a black rectangular weapon. It had an opening for a magazine and a single trigger, with electronics on top. Air vents ran the length of it.

“That’s not possible.” Amber recognized the weapon right away.

“What is it?” Eddie had never seen anything like it before.

“That’s a Chinese made Electro-magnetic Assault Rifle. The intelligence my company has been gathering so far said that they were working on them.” Amber had seen the intelligence they were gathering on the weapon.

“Well, they are going to be missing a few of them.” Eddie grabbed four of them, along with several loaded magazines.

“Ladies, we have movement out here.” Raven spotted two blackout box trucks, two vans, and a blackout eighteen-wheeler coming towards their location.

“How many are coming?” Eddie spotted something else that caught her attention. She grabbed the case, which felt heavy.

“Five vehicles with nine heat sources.” Raven had the targets locked down.

“Okay, we’re leaving now. We’ll meet you at the old Domino packaging plant.” Eddie and Amber leave as quietly as they can and stay hidden from sight.

Raven continues to watch the building. She switches to night vision and watches as the figures back their vehicles up to the loading doors and start loading containers into the warehouse. The camera system built into Raven’s scope records everything.

A bullet hits near her location. Raven turns her rifle towards where the shot came from and spots the shooter. He was using an air conditioner for cover. Another shot hits near her position, but because she was lying low and was using a signage beam for cover, she was hard to hit or spot.

Raven waits patiently, and when the other sniper tries to shoot her. She ricochets a bullet off a nearby beam and hits the sniper in the side of the head. She didn’t think the shot would work, but it did. As for the people down at the warehouse, they start firing up towards her.

She could take out everyone down there, but they needed to know where all those weapons were going. She purposely misses a few shots, but wings several of them. She takes her emergency escape route and runs as far as she can, while using cover to protect her.

It was a good thing Raven was ex-military and used to running with her sniper rifle on her back. She knew these streets from their earlier exploration. She finally made it to the Domino Sugar packing company.

“What happened?” Eddie notices Raven breathing hard.

“They brought their own sniper and took a few shots at me.” Raven looks towards her sisters.

“I take it, you took their sniper out?” Eddie knew her sister was skillful.

“Yes, and I also purposely missed some of the people and winged a few.” Raven had to make it look good.

“Duncan said no firefight.” Amber looked at both her sisters when she spoke.

“There wasn’t. Did you two do what you set out to do?” Raven hopes her sisters were successful.

“Yes, and we came back with some goodies.” Eddie shows the electromagnetic rifles she took and the case.

‘What’s in the case?” Amber was curious.

“I don’t know, but whatever it is, it's heavy.” Eddie couldn’t believe the weight in the case.

“We need to find out what is in that case.” Amber wanted to know why that case was among the containers.

“Let’s do it back home. This isn’t the place to do this.” Eddie was curious as well.

“I agree.” Raven secured her rifle in its case on her motorcycle.

Amber and Eddie mount their motorcycles as well and start their engines. Eddie leads the way back to the house. Amber and Raven rode side by side on the streets. Traffic was light, and most of the police officers they passed paid them no mind.

Once they arrived back at the house, they parked the motorcycles in the garage. They secured the electromagnetic rifles in the weapon locker in the house. Once they secured all their weapons, Eddie set the case on the dining room table and opened it.

“Oh, my god!”

All three women look at the container inside the padded case with the silver powdery substance in it.
