Meanwhile, at the Alvian Embassy, the Postulate Twins, Kaya and Zula, shared lunch with Ranor and Cara, the Genius Twins.

"The ceremony went well last night. Arcana really got caught up in the pomp and circumstances of the occasion," observed Ranor

"Say, Cara, when did you and Ranor discover that you were fraternal twins? That is just so wild,” Kaya questioned

Cara replied, "That is quite some story. We were both applying for co-ed housing on campus to save time, since we both are taking a gruesome workload. An antiquated college regulation tied to an endowment restricts blood relatives from staying in the same dorm. Some hackers on campus decided to make lemonade out of it. Using state resources beyond state-of-the-art hacking, they are able to break into sealed birth certificates and reunite children separated at birth by adoption. We look so much alike that they assumed that we were there for the clandestine search for sibling motive and were pleased that they got to reject Ranor's app. for the house, while accepting me. But we got copies of our real birth certificates. Ranor is my big brother by 14 minutes."

Kaya asked, "Oh Ranor, Arcana texted me to ask you if you might be available to do a little experiment in the Training pods at the Goddess Temple this evening after she is finished with school? The Alvian Sentinels will be meeting with her mother."

"I'll make time to help her. Ask her to give me a heads up when it gets within an hour of wanting to meet me,” replied Ranor.

Kaya responded, "Thank you, Ranor. I'll text her back and let her know."

Zula queried, "Cara, when are you two returning to Alvia Institute of Technology (AIT)?"

"Darkbird is going to fly us back there tonight so we can attend classes in the morning,” Cara answered.

The Genius Twins enjoyed their lunch with the Postulate Twins. Each set of twins had different business to take care of so they parted in order to arrive for their next set of tasks.

On the way to the Goddess Temple, Arcana tapped her communicator earring, "Arcana calling Ranor."

"Go ahead, Arcana."

"Can you meet me in the Goddess Temple at the training pods in an hour?"

"Sure thing. Arcana, See you there. Out"

Arcana teleported into the Goddess' Temple's Training Pods Chamber. Since the earlier incident the sensors and AI reported on things in the chamber but outside the pods as well.

The AI intoned, "Magical energy release detected, factor 7"

The AI's voice startled Ranor who was waiting there for Arcana. Ranor turned around, finding himself looking into the eyes of Arcana, courtesy of the six-inch heeled boots she was wearing.

"Hello, Ranor. Thank you for helping me with this experiment. Let's enter the training pods and resume inside the virtual training chamber."

"Hi, Arcana, of course we can go ahead and enter the training pods. It will help me to get used to the Ceti Alphan simulation."

"Very good Ranor. You said that Cara wanted to observe?"

"Cara will be along in a bit. She had a bit of a bother to take care of in the restroom. My sister says she hates those visits by Aunt Flo."

"That's okay, Ranor, I'm a shape shifter and the process tends to get me really involved in all the details of the person I am either shifting to or from. It was all a lark when I shape shifted Brightbird to female. We had an excuse at the time, which isn't important now. When I changed Brightbird to female it was to pure female."

"Wouldn't that help her adjust easier even if it wasn't a long-term thing?"

"I have come to find out later that I should have changed him to be a transman, so that when his need to be a girl was done, he would want to change back to being a guy. I'd like to do that to you, so I'll know what works if there is a real need to do it again to someone."

"I'm glad to help you out and I really do not want to stay a girl long-term."

"What I want to do is to get a written statement from you saying you want to change back, and then change you to a woman without altering your male mind, to see if that is what I should have done with Robin to get her to want to change back."

"Sounds like a great idea. I'll go along with it in the name of science."

"OK I'll call Kaya and Zula who are working on the legal stuff and the video tape for me." She tapped her communicator earring and signaled the Postulate Twins to come in.

The Postulate Twins brought in some documents for Ranor to sign and then videotaped him directing that he be put back in his original male body. That done, everything was ready for the transformation.

Arcana called down the power, which engulfed Ranor leaving him looking very much like Cara. The new girl christened herself Nema as the AI interrupted, " Magical Energy Release factor 7 detected"

"How do you feel?" the Arcana asked.

Nema responded with a bright cheery, "I feel okay."

Somehow Kaya was more tuned in to the situation than Arcana was. " Nema, Is your sister on her period? How heavy are they usually?"

Nema nodded, then said, "Her periods are usually heavy, That doesn't say anything about me, does it?"

Kaya replied," I hate to break it to you, but females in the same house tend to have periods at the same time, especially Identical twins like you are now. Right Zula?"

Zula nodded her agreement. "Where is the nearest restroom? We need to get Nema some where she can be comfortable when this catches up to her?"

Arcana replied, "It’s about to be right here, watch me work!"

She summoned a building into existence saying, "Goddess, possess me!"

And there before them was a restroom fully stocked as though it were a copy of a facility placed at a resort for the use of their members. It had a sitting area and with couch and chairs stalls and showers. It had a fully stocked linen closet as well as clothing in various sizes, in case someone was caught wearing white when she should not be.

The AI intoned, "Magical energy release at factor 10 detected"

"Let’s get her into the sitting room. I have the restroom connected up to the Temple's utilities, so everything should be functional," the Arcana observed.

The girls helped Nema into the lounge, where Arcana checked to see how Nema was doing by looking at her aura. She was amazed to see parts of her aura that she had left blue on purpose, turning pink, and could only conclude it was the period having that effect on her. She also discovered that while the period was in progress, she could not effect another transformation.

Arcana sensed that Cara was on the way, so she wanted to go out and catch her to talk to her before she entered the training pod to get to Nema's side.

"Kaya and Zula, please keep her comfortable.”

"Nema, I'm sorry but your period has already started, and I can't change you back till it has run its course. I'm going to explain what has happened to you to Cara before she gets here. I'll be back soon."

Arcana went out to intercept Wendy before she entered the training pod and the lounge inside, stopping her.

Arcana explained to Cara, " I can't change her back till after she gets through with her period. She, being your twin sister Nema, formerly your fraternal brother Ranor. I can do a house call at AIT to change her back, if she can function as Nema at AIT."

"Nema is already known on the AIT campus so there is no problem. We came up with some cloaking shields that alter the perceptions, so that they feel like they are interacting with either Ranor or me. Well, we had to help and trade and discovered that they still worked. Nema got caught making a date for me when I was in the room, so we explained that Nema was my twin sister and Nema got pranked herself, because she had to keep the date that she had made for me. She'll keep the Ranor cloak ready in case Ranor might be asked to 'turn off the cloak' and be Ranor for a while."

"I can teleport now, so there won't be any trouble going to AIT in the evening after school to change her back. Once her period is over, please call me and I will be over as soon as I can."

"That will work out fine. Maybe you can come to AIT with Darkbird and me tonight, and we can pick out a nice safe place for you to teleport to when we need you. There is one thing that bothers me. I understand that you are brand new to your powers and making mistakes are a natural part of doing. But girl, how could you not realize that the day of my period was not the best time to be turning my brother into my sister?"

"I've only been a girl physically for 5 days. Before that I was only a girl mentally, and I haven't had a period yet."

Cara opened her eyes wide at that revelation, "Girl, I am with you on that.”

“Wow! all the things about magic that I have read is that a menstruating female is much more powerful magically than her little girl counterpart. I heard on my comm. the room telling you that last magical thing you did was ten level power. Watch out, World, Arcana has arrived!"

"Don’t say that. That scares me to death, just thinking about it!"

"No need, Arcana. The Alvian Sentinels will see you through it and you'll be a better person for sticking with it. They were wonderful in helping us to find our niche and making it happen. Who knows where we will end up when we finish AIT, even if we are both the geniuses they think we are. Hey, superheroes need engineers too! The important thing is that we’ve found our place in the world. Our superpower ended up being our genius and we will find a place so our superpower will shine.”

“If you keep the faith, then your place to shine may be as Arcana as part of the adult Super Friends. Just find a place where your unique superpowers will shine. If you are not making mistakes at this point, then you would be stagnant and not testing the boundaries of what you know. In time you will be able to do it more intelligently but if we don't grow then we die."

"Bless you Cara! You are truly a saint!"

"Fair warning. I can be bitchy during my period, so please accept my apologies in advance for any transgression in the next few days. I'm better after taking my Midol."

"Let me take you to your sister in the training pod room and the lounge I created inside. I believe there is a whole drawer full of Midol in there so you can help yourself." Arcana led Cara to her sister Nema in the lounge. She noticed that Nema had changed clothes and she appeared to be resting more comfortably.

"Hi Sis, are you doing, okay?" asked Cara.

"I am, Cara. Kaya and Zula have been really helpful. This lounge literally has everything that I needed to be comfortable. my question is if I am having the same period as you are now? Is this what it is like for me as a first period?"

"Either way works out to be the same, Three days. Arcana, can you help me get Nema to our sleeping quarters? We need to pack, and Nema is gonna need outfits that fit her for 3 days, plus a few more for accidents, just in case. Guess what Nema! You get to be my twin sister for real for 3 days. If Raynor has to put in an appearance, then you will have to use your cloaking shield."

"I can convert a few outfits to female wear for her. They will stay that way permanently unless I do something later to convert them back. The outfit she is wearing when I change her back will adapt to male wear. Once you clear me for your quarters, I can teleport the three of us over there."

Cara had the computer eating out of her hand and the permission was quickly set. Once she was finished, Arcana took Nema's arm in her right arm and Cara's arm in her left arm and uttered, "Goddess, possess me!"

Instantly, the three of them found themselves in Nema's bedroom. Arcana started packing a suitcase for Nema by first, converting an article and then folding it nicely and placing it inside while Cara and Nema looked on, amazed. Nema added the bag full of supplies from the lounge to the suitcase. Finally, there were no more items that could be converted to items that she needed.

"Nema you are good for clothes, but you are going to need some incidentals. Cara, do you think you could take your sister to the commissary to fill in the gaps? I'm going to go clean up the mess I left in the simulation room"

Cara replied, "Sure thing, Arcana! I am so glad that Darkbird got them to install this one since she was used to having one available during the time she served in the military. Ordinarily a store like this would not work on the honor system, but this is the Alvian Sentinels!" Cara escorted Nema out the door and down the hallway while Arcana teleported back to the Simulation room.
