craziness explained?
Yeay, update!
I don’t know if it was explained already, but why do men go crazy when using (ritual) magic? Is it the genes (is it Y-bound, or a recessive x one (along the lines of colour blindness)? Hormones? Brain chemistry? (though the last one doesn’t sound right, since as fat as we know Sarah only changes one’ body, which would mean Nathaniel would still be crazy…)
Would Sarah have gone crazy if she didn’t reform her disintegrated body into a girl’s (her true form) between the portals when being shot by Venus? Which doesn’t sound right either since Mike’s still okay.
Also there seems to be something going on with Sarah’s dad, which could mean gender swapping someone also enables magical abilities, like her portal does. Which would mean Nathaniel could go back to being male and use magic that way, since Mike is able to do it without going crazy (unless he’s not telling us something :p) or does gender swapping back and forth, erase the craziness problem? Which would enable Mike using magic without turning crazy.
So many questions, so little answers, so desperate for more Venus Cursed!

Maybe glyphs are a part of a computer language created either long ago, in the future, or alternate reality to harness the raw psionic/psychic/bio-organic energy of a new planet, or harness the chaotic energy from a nuclear war. And said computer/s are located at places like Stonehenge, or magnetic poles.

Is Sarah being unfair in trying to learn from them but not letting them learn from her? Maybe she's correct to be wary.
Learning
It's difficult for others to learn from Sarah's group, as Sarah's group practice instinctive / natural magic - i.e. they think and it happens. It's not as though they're forming a spell which can be taught to others. Added onto which, the other members of her group acquired their magical ability via portal-hopping, which Sarah's reluctant to tell Charlotte's group about for the time being...
...although I'm not sure how they managed to explain away the Venus encounter without mentioning portals.

As for Venus, they haven't mentioned her. They're going with the story that her transformation was planned. ;)
