OOOOOH Nuuan!
This made me laugh, hard! I absolutely love your fantastical Ideas.
Hugs,

thanks
I didn't get to "play" with the coyote enough in the other story, you'll find as I post more, he lives up to his namesake in this story:)

Had a Feeling...
...when you named your inventor Wiley that something like that was coming, albeit not quite that literally. Interesting start; I'm looking forward to an explanation on "manifesting things" -- is it related to his tech skills or something else entirely?
Eric
Manifesting things
That was Melanie who can do that, although the road runner is just a glimmer of how her power works.

Thanks..
Not sure how I missed that; seems clear enough now.

"The coyote's jaw dropped"
Mine dropped a little too as I laughed at this. I am so glad to see more stories in this universe.
Actually it's...
a new universe, there is one other story so far in it about a mermaid type character that is unfinished yet and written by Shadowsblade

Mermaids
Oooh, I love mermaids. I hope this story gets published too.
The mermaid story
Shadowsblade sent me the link to their mermaid story. It's https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book-page/75274/meagans-tail
I just finished re-reading everything that's been published so far.
Love your descriptive
Nuuan, sweety, your demented mind is off on vacation and this one is strictly an excellent SF unless you toss a wringer in there later. Love the way this one is headed with your well executed characters gifts and faults. The only slightly drift of sanity is 'beautiful, gorgeous, cheerleader thinks prodigy, genius geek, mad inventor is worth talking to???
great start
always,
Barb
Life is a gift. Treasure it until it's time to return it.
Oklahoma born and raised cowgirl
well cute cheerleader
also found out she has something in common with Geeky boy.

Cute with the Road Runner but a bad move
Now you've got a coyote chasing a road runner in a residential neighborhood and it can be traced back to David's lab... NOT GOOD!
LOL
He's got a big yard :)

I wonder if there is a
link to the other story somehow.
Never mind just read the other comments

Coyote is set in the Whateley Universe, while this one is not.
Although other than names and characters these two stories bear little resemblance to each other

Necessity is the mother
Is this the start of something new? It looks good.
Time is the longest distance to your destination.
Yep!
All new story, all new universe :)

Yes!!!! Finally more
Today is a good day after all I get a new chapter of 2 stories I like. Just wish I was not such a fast reader so it would last longer lol. Thanks for the new post I hope you are having a great day yourself and can post more soon. Take care and God Bless.
Fast reader
I'm the same, I read quite fast too. Although my editing speed is much slower :(
But I don't see any problem with posting the continuation on a weekly basis

Not one of those things
This is not one of those things where "you had to be there". I roared with laughter, just like Davey and Melanie. I would love to see what the two of them get up to if not reigned in by their creators. I have a feeling Road Runner will get the best of Wiley!
MW
Didn't you do a similar one but with Mechwarrior instead of Looney Tunes? Still loving both of them ;) as they are 2 of my favorite universes.
Correct
I wrote one called "Coyote" that is set in the Whateley universe that the main character had build several smaller mechs and one full sized one

ahhhh. .Meep Meep
The fun continues!

Lots of fun
At least I have had fun writing this one, which the Coyote has quite a few key scenes in :)

It's always fun to have a
It's always fun to have a sarcastic sidekick who is good for comedic moments and can brighten the scene with his antics.
Just remember, he was so smart that he forgot that coyotes can outrun roadrunners :D
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
What those two could create
Not being like the other students is nothing new, geeky kids are like that. But geeky and meta-human? That's really unlike the other kids.
Why was Melanie's sister taken away, what was her manifestation? Did her parents have a choice or was her leaving forced on them?
The items David creates and Melanie able to manifest things, they could make beautiful music together.
Others have feelings too.
Melanie's sister
Considering the fact that Melanie is hiding her manifestation from her parents, I suspect that they are complicit.
Wile E strikes again!
I'm looking forward to more shenanigans. Will he be holding up little signs? Will he draw tunnels in a rock (or wall) face?
My middle son is in the Civil Air Patrol. He took the model rocket courses at Encampment. The instructor, an avid model rocketeer, is also a fursuiter. His fursona is Rocket T. Coyote.
I like that something as straight laced and military have no problem with a fursuit wearing officer who can act as a mascot.
If you google Rocket T. Coyote, you'll find him on some of the furry sites.
I owe you a double thanks
I had missed this story when you posted it a few months ago. I stopped by seeing as you commented on my story and found this perfect gem of a tale I had missed. looking forward to later chapters and as I missed it I have a few already posted to read.
I think you meant to have commas before and after the second 'it' to cause extra emphasis or its superfluous, and knocks the reader out of the tale.
"...Whatever it was it David knew could not be good."
Reading it again.
It's interesting that now, in the real world, there is a lot of concern about AI.
I am dubious about actual self-aware AI, but I have to admit that the current ChatGPT and art generation AI is way beyond what I expected to see anytime soon.
In fact, those technologies were not here when this story was first written.
Musk is concerned that anyone who has access to AI will have a large advantage over the rest oh us and will amass power, so he started an open source company to level the playing field. From that compant sprung ChatGPT.
Still, many are sure that AI is going to get out of control, much like out current interconnected society has. Only more so.
But trying to regulate it will only drive the R&D underground, unleveling the playing field.
