I was back in school for the first time since the death of my parents. Most people were very nice or just left me alone, which was fine by me. I didn’t read anyone’s thoughts, simply because I didn’t really care what anyone was thinking. Being used to people’s terrible thoughts, reading them wasn’t a top priority for me. Getting through the day without going insane was. My parents were dead, my life was uprooted, and I had to learn to live life as a girl. I wasn’t embarrassed about my situation, what happened was outside of my control, and I was happy with what I had become.

I shook my head. "Something's not right. I've seen the living quarters. There were younger children here. There's no indication they were infected and turned, and if they were abandoned when their parents turned, we'd have found signs of it. Where have they gone?"

"That is no concern of yours."

The voice came from the shadow of a storage shed. It belonged to a tall man, with short-cropped blond hair, in military fatugues bearing the Red Skull insignia. Four others appeared behind him, fanning out to cover us with automatic weapons. "Your more immediate concern, Miss Mars, should be, 'How do I remain very still to keep my associates from being killed.'"

Court sighed and glanced at me. "They've got the doctor, too."

Blindfold: First Sight

Meet Blindfold. She's already female and won't be changing. Blindfold has definitely been retconed however. She's young and like Michael Valentine Smith or Mork she may look human but... Don't worry. The prologue is very formal but the rest definitely won't be. Blame the formality on Indigo-1. The bad jokes will be mine.
