Remember Edeyn and her briliant works

I was remembering and going through some older stories and fun time I had with them (It would be nice to see all star Maiden by Decree read by people again) and remembered Edeyn´s stories - mainly my favourite Violet Ajah and Sk8r Grrls.
Since Edeyn had both mainly pulled down for rewrite, only shards of them remain here on BCT. If there would be an interest, I have original 27 chapters of Sk8r Grrls still saved on HDD, so their re-upload would not be problem if anyone is still interested in them.

A special warmth

Blog About:

Well, I am back in sunny Florida and the high temp was 80 degrees. Yesterday I was in San Francisco and the temp was low 50s. On the other hand I just had a glorious 6 days with my son, Sean and his mom, Toni. There was warmth. They love me. I'm not sure that I understand it all but they love me.
Toni got us tickets to "Chanticleer" www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohH62CSC574, which was magnificent and I even went to church with her on Christmas Eve to hear her in the choir.

Those that have left us in sickness,in a warriors death and suffering.

The ones that are still here.

The ones that are still to come.

Help finding a story

I've got an itching to go re-read a story but I can't seem to find it or remember its name. The main character of the story has a day job at a warehouse but spends his evening/nights playing as a faerie/pixie in a mmorpg with a team he only knows online, they start producing videos and group gets famous, then someone releases nano bots that turn every one who played into their characters.
He (now a female faerie then defeats the villain at the end of the story.
Any help on finding this story would be greatly appreciated.

Advent

So my visit with friends in Germany has been and gone, i visited something like twenty Christmas market sites, collected a similar number of Gluhwein mugs and pretty much had a good time eating and drinking and just soaking up the seasonal atmosphere. I've updated the Gluhwein mug directory and the Christmas Market gazzeteer if you fancy a mooch. Of course i was accompanied by Gaby so a click here will take you to a photo gallery featuring the Wunderkind.

Wednesday (apart from being the works Xmas bash) will see a report on said trip, pictures of course and more stuff to read.

Until then,

Major decisions on my part

Blog About:

Author:

A small number might have noticed that I am no longer using the username of Payter Eketta. Well there is a reason for this. Back in June of 2012 I finally started getting treated for PTSD/Depression by the VA. My PTSD is combat-related due to Desert Shield/Storm. However, my depression has absolutely nothing to do with my PTSD. After many years of struggling with myself I am finally going to ask my Therapist for a referral to the Gender Clinic in the Jamaca Plain Campus of the Boston VA. I also had lunch with my daughter (my youngest) today and told her about my decision.

Very Good Serial Stories

I just started to read the Fan-Fic Whateley school for Mutants stories on the Chrystal Hall site . I am so very hooked on the action that takes place in each story. Sometimes it is nice to get a break from the stories with dress up as the main theme .
These stories have been written by great authors from the resent past and have gender flip and dress up but with action scenes .
I highly recommend them . You can find other stories here at Big Closet and on FM . I am so hooked LOL .

Homonym warning

I've run across a particular error in a number of stories here recently.

People are writing about having been "put through the ringer".

That's wrong. It's "put through the *wringer*". A wringer was a gizmo on early washing machines where you used a crank to turn a pair of rollers which you fed wet clothing between. They'd squeeze out the water.

Getting a finger caught in one was rather painful for obvious reasons.

These days you find wringers on some industrial type mop buckets.

This was a mistake.

Several problems raised their 'pretty' heads.

This past April I had a accident at home (yes with a ladder) and broke my ankle almost ripping my foot off (it was close) now this Wednesday I will have the third surgery to repair my foot . The Doctor is breaking my foot to construct a new arch . I will need 1 more surgery to complete the repairs, but they can't do all the work as it is too much trauma to the body . The broken bones from April still have not healed completely OUCH
This at least will be out patient and only 8 to 10 weeks in a cast double OUCH.

A Thumbs Up Button

I Don't understand I've been Here over Seven years and why is it I see stories have say over 900 reads and only get less then 10%Thumbs up WHY . I think that just about every story posted here should get at least 80% score of the over 900 reads. I will admit I'm not a writer of stories here but I have edited for several writers here and have requested not tobe acknowledge for my help, but all writers here should get a better score then then 10% for their effort of writing these stories we read almost everyday. This is just my Thoughts on this subject have good day! Richard

Family buried Transwoman daughter as son...

I was read this story on Huffington Post, about a trans-woman that died and her family had her put in the casket dressed and made up as man. Not only was I disgusted at what the family did, but the comments were equally disturbing. I could actually hear the banjos playing in my head from reading what some people said.
I may never transition, but if I do, I would like to be buried as I was presenting myself to the world.

A glimpse at Editing.

Below is a picture showing the first page of JG Ballard's Crash. The marks all over it are the author's edits. When I'm doing my own edits, I do this. I print out my work to edit in a different font (and font size) so that it doesn't look the same as it does on the screen. I've read and can testify from experience that changing how the text looks can help see it fresh. It can help you see those things that you gloss over from familiarity and such.

I also thought it was just neat as hell.

Quiet

Indeed, after several quite hectic weeks this current seven day has been very quiet, no trips, no deadlines, work has been exceptionally quiet too. The weather has been quite poor, fog, rain and otherwise overcast which hasn't helped my chesty cold one iota! in short its typical November weather.

It does mean that I've got five Gaby chapters written so the next run is well on schedule for its end of month release.

Of course its only two weeks before my Rheinland Weinachtsmarkt trip and just five weeks until the day itself - where did the year go?

OK...Does anyone else hate the 'nines' as much as I do?

So...I write for ME... No, really, I do...

I enjoy writing... It is FUN!

I can put into words my fantasies, me desires, my NEEDS...

It is not about whether anyone appreciates my writing...it Is ALL about me getting my 'feelings' out there... Right?

Yeah--that is it!!!!

So... Why does it bother me so much when my 'likes' top out at a 'nine'? You know... 79...89... Or, the WORST...99?

Why does that last 'like' matter so much? Who knows...

I never consciously tried to be troll on this site, but as I was recently banned from several sites for asking people to explain their position and to provide substantiation to their claims I can say that I am a semi professional internet troll :-) Can't claim to be professional as I never received any money for my posts online :-)

So I bricked my netbook. Maybe permanently. I'm researching things to try. What that means is no more writing. Posting a blog on this tablet or spending a little time in chat is okay, but I can't write on this thing. Not to mention that all my projects are stored in iCloud, and this tablet is Android.

Healthwise I'm having more pain than usual. I'm getting recurring pain from either side of my abdomen, on top of the back and foot pain I've had for years now.

This site and my friends here keep me sane. Thank you all.

Edit: My netbook is a Dell Mini 9.

Remembered

After celebrating the failure of terrorists and frightening the spirits, this week, in Europe at least we've been remembering the dead of two world wars and more recent conflicts. Today we aren't threatened by other nations but by extremists hiding behind religion to kill and terrorise the innocent and force their idealogy on others, our military personel continue to die in the pursuit of peace, we should thank them and remember their selfless sacrifice on our behalf.

Just a little heads-up

As far as Anmar is concerned, then I am delaying posting the next episodes of JoB (#38, #39 and #40 are already completely written and #41 is well under way).
AO #2 is also ready.

However, as each, in their ways, refer to the main story, I like to pass them all through Penny's scrutiny before posting, in case Penny feels I have misjudged some Alaesianisms or Palarandisms. This, of course, then delays poor Penny from getting on with her own stuff.

Yes, both of you...

A few of you know the last year and a half have been a challenge for me as my cataracts overcame my eyesight. Reading and writing became difficult if not impossible. I had the surgery in July. It has a 99% success rate but I was in the 1%.

On the 29th I had PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) also called ASA (Advanced Surface Ablation). For someone who loves to read and write this has been a real trial. I was warned of extreme pain and a slow recovery: Weeks, months, maybe a slow year.
