I'm blushing!

If I still have fans after the disaster of my last story, they will be glad to know I've made some progress on a new story, and if all goes well I hope to be able to start releasing it a chapter at a time before the end of the month.

Cant guarantee this, though. Real life has been a slog this week, and if that trend continues my available spoons for writing will be seriously diminished.

Anyway, I just thought I'd let everybody know.

Well, since it seems that my worst fears about chapter 2 of "Case file 2: the Profiler" were in fact less than the reality, and the chapter has gone over like a lead balloon, I'm going to publish the third and final chapter now, and end the story.

Sorry it disappointed people. Sometimes, I guess, some ideas I have just dont fly.

Well, I didn't get the job. Didn't even make the cut to go to the third interview.\

Ah, well. At least I tried.

And as the job was going to be mostly door-to-door sales, I'm not heartbroken over not getting it.

What's really cool was that although I had to put my male name on my resume, I included Dorothy as my preferred name, and that's the name the lady who contacted me used.

I am going to be a bit of a nervous wreck so huggles appreciated!

I'd like to talk for a moment about my newest story, "Sacrifice".

If's a pretty rare story for me, because I basically inspired myself.

See, a long time back I wrote a little story called "puppets" which had a person with the ability to control others and yet was also a victim of control at the same time. It was so dark I eventually wrote a sequel where the main character became free. And yet, because the story also featured a family who had been victimized by the main character my brain kept going back to the story wondering what happened to them next.

I spent the day running Sharon and Samantha around and it ended with some important news.

It looks like Sam is going for breast reduction surgery probably late this year or early next year. Her back will thank her when she's older, but I'm gonna be a touch worried about her going under the knife anyway.

Well I messed up my short story collection badly, and so far have not been able to get a hold of Amazon Kindle to see if I could fix it.

I could go down in infamy as the author who couldn't remember HOW MANY LETTERS THERE WERE IN THE ALPHABET.

I mean seriously, I am a super reader, and I got that wrong?

I have prepared my collection of short stories, and am ready to publish, but finding it less easy thanI'd like. Is there anyone who has published on amazon kindle and can walk me through publishing my book?

I have been thinking a lot about the mistake I made with Mercy. Namely, that I posted chapters as they were written, rather than wait until I had the story complete. I believe that the length of time between posting, especially when I couldnt even say when more might come, helped lower the opinion of people about the series. Plus, I believe the pressure I put on myself to try and keep interest in the story led me to post very short chapters that also probably turned a lot of people off.

Well, I am glad to report I have made some progress on stuff. I got my tax rebate into the bank today, and discovered that my former employer had FINALLY given me my holiday pay. Then I went to the E.I. office, and discovered I had made a small mistake which was delaying my claim, and fixed it.

All this, plus I've gotten some serious progress done on the next chapter of Mercy, so I am super happy at the moment.

I am not going to beg for kudos on Mercy, but I am curious.

With every chapter that number has declined, to the point that the latest chapter has 63 kudos at the moment.

If you gave a kudo to chapter one, but have since dropped away from liking the story, and you're comfortable sharing, I would really like to know why.

Too short chapters? Too long a break between chapters?

some good news, and some bad news

First, the good news. I got a call from Employment Insurance, and they said that they should be making a decision on it soon, but my claim looks good.

But then, the bad news. I had an emotionally exhausting counseling session, and came home to read 2 stories here that look like they are headed into very dark territory, which has left me shaky.

Hoped to get some writing done, but it might not happen now.

I got several compliments on my writing at church today.

On a day where I had been feeling pretty much like I was dead weight taking up space, I needed that.
