The undertones here meaning Cathy is -
PREGNANT? wooOO! if that is true that means Shekinah has done some rewiring down below!!!!
All that mention of food and throwing up. It didn't appear to be a sickness other than possible morning sickness. Ahh!
The implications of that would be far reaching:
1) Simon will wig out more and gradually become poorer.
2) Cathy will be grounded more into reality that there was some sort of intervention or reality warping or else her body was changed from u-no-hoo! :)
3) Another mouth to feed, but this one her own!
4) Larger grocery bill. Definitely needing a full time live in Chef.
Looking forward greedily for the next few chaps to see if this bears out!
On the plus side, Cathy seems to be having a therapeutic experience talking about her her past that tormented her. Its been repeated a lot in recent episodes and Cathy seems to be letting go of the pain. That is great!

40 minute talks
I gave a 40 minute talk at church last summer. I wasn't worried, and while I did read the background material, I didn't worry about it at all. That was until the class started. When I stood and turned to face the audience, I went completely blank.
They were very kind and generous with me, and as I stood looking at the source material, and stating the goal of my talk, my peers started asking questions about it, keeping a running conversation going between me and the rest. It was over before I knew it. In the last minutes before I sat down, I realized that the President of the Stake was there in back. He was most generous with his praise, and I promised to work much more diligently to prepare for my next talk.
wit and passion
that could be said about this whole series. Thanks!
Into the lions den
Cathy maybe heading into the lions den by speaking at her old school. She has enough wit and passion to cower anything, maybe even a real lion.
Always love your work and try not to miss an episode.

Morning Sickness?
Possibly, and perhaps quite likely!
Lets stop and reconsider some things.
1. Cathy has a run in with a couple of her teachers from times past.
2. She has a dream of returning to the institution of one of those teachers for a lecture only to have a young boy in the dream keep asking her, "Where Are Your Ovaries?" Before the dream (nightmare is over) she realizes the young boy is her. And indeed this could be just a dream Cathy is having about herself. But let's continue...
3. She gets a letter from that institution requesting she come down for a lecture on Ecology, and in an attempt to drive a demon or two away, she accepts.
4. She is sick this one morning, and every morning sickness has to have the first one before it can have more. Is there more to follow?
So, which is it? Was it
a) something Cathy ate?
b) a reaction to the stress of the previous day?
c) a case of nerves about the upcoming lecture?
d) or is she indeed pregnant?
To me, c) is the most logical answer, but I have to consider d) also.
Bonzi and Izzy, you are both mean cats for for setting up yet again, a cliff hanger that I doubt many saw (and my idea may be wrong,) but I love ya anyway, so go get in the lap of your human, purr for her, and I know you will both get lots of scritches, scratches, and tummy rubs, which is what you really want anyway as you write this story, isn't it?
Don't let someone else talk you out of your dreams. How can we have dreams come true, if we have no dreams?

Missing the obvious?
Perhaps everyone is missing the most obvious option.
Tom's coffee could be lethal for those who haven't built up an immunity.

Okay...
Okay, you and your editorial team have planted lots of hints in one direction (pregnant)... But, I don't recall word of THAT many opportunities... You know, she gets preggers, Simon'll be ten feet tall... (And, I suspect some docs will be really scratching their head - specially the one that tidied up down there...)
I suspect it's nerves and Cathy's propensity for mountain building (from mole hills - the moles being closer to her area of specialty) and her recent bits of stress add to that.
Quite a nice episode.
Annette
Cathy has always had a tender
tummy. She prefers weaker tea and coffee than others, so she might not be able to handle the higher concentrations of caffeine and such, and she can't do curry like Tom does. And she might also be having stage fright jitters.

Hughie
I find he normally travels with three companions: George, Ralph and the token woman Ruth.
Belated comment. As much as I love the Disney Happy Ending TM
and would love her morning sickness being due to Cathy being pregnant from some healing the Shekena did and some heavy duty loving from her husband, I suspect it is the gas station tuna sandwich.
THOUGH as Cathy keeps denying the Shekena and the divine exists this could be a punishment.
HUH?
Given Cathy's ingrained low self esteem, if she were to get her greatest wish, to be a whole and fertile genetic woman, it would be a living hell for her. Not just any legal problems but she would feel so guilty given how Jacque was robbed of her birthright, Trish will never be fully a female. Bobbie died so young and barely into her transition and so on.
Cathy would see such a blessing as a curse, something to tear her away from her loved ones.
Whatever it is, nerves, a spoiled sandwich or ...the OTHER thing... nice chapter, Ang.
John in Wauwatosa.
P.S. Our elderly cats are a bit under the weather what with them both having mild to moderate kidney disease and the girl, after being treated successfully for a gall bladder infection, has signs of heart damage.
Can Bonzi send some Blue light special their way? Or to Dad fighting off a MRSA infection?
