It's worth the wait. I don't think you owe anyone here. We owe you.

Nice to see the
inspector knocked off from his high and mighty ways... No doubt given the police's record in promoting the wrong men, He will soon find himself a job in the police PR department...
Kirri
Somehow I doubt
that it's over with the inspector. There has to be something more behind his vendetta against Cathy. Guess his attitudes and prejudices might indicate what the something more is. I don't understand how he'd risk his career arresting Cathy on such slim grounds though. He had to know it would never go anywhere.
Maybe...
.... he has some connection to Cortez.

There's still the odd fossil ...
There's still the odd fossil to be found lurking in the strata's of police geology. Cathy's just found one and it just takes a bit of skilfull legal 'paleontology' to excavate it then classify it before exibiting it in a safe place where it can do no harm.
Pleasant read Ang and I wasn't affected by the failed posting cos' I was out kicking up a storm of my own.

I'm guessing...
...Marple's a fairly recent transfer to Portsmouth CID. If he'd been around any length of time, he would have been well aware of Cathy's reputation. However, in this particular case, as someone's speculated above, it wouldn't surprise me if he has a connection to Cortez - perhapshe's been "persauded" to turn a blind eye to the various nefarious activities Cortez and his goons are up to. Similarly, it wouldn't surprise me if Cortez had done his research on both Cathy and Morse, then deliberately played upon Morse's bigotry to make it easier to persuade him to arrest Cathy...
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Cathy may be able to play a trump card agqinst Morse
The contents of his computer, which she mentioned. He doesn't sound smart enough to delete it.
And if he does, he probably won't clean the recycle bin, OR clean the hard drive beyond just erasing. A good forensic tech could still recover them.
The problem, though, might be in getting anyone to look at his computer, as what evidence does she have.
Of course if Trish could somehow email some of it to the right people ... like the press ...
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Who's this
Morse? My current antagonist is called Marple.

*sighs*
So, she gets out with little hassle. Another example of how the rich can get QUICK justice. Anyone want to bet how much trouble a poor or minority person might have found the same events?
As to the thoughts about Mr. Cortez... Oh, my...
Thanks,
Annette
Well, well, well
I really don't think Cortez had time to do much research on Cathy, and I don't think that Marple is working for him. It seems to me that if Marple was working for Cortez, she would have been taken to Cortez, and things could have really taken a turn for the worse. And with the 8 year old computer guru in Cathy's household, I suspect that the contents of Marple's hard drive will soon be public, and in the news. Marple doesn't impress me as being intelligent enough to delete things off his hard drive.
Don't let someone else talk you out of your dreams. How can we have dreams come true, if we have no dreams?

Another bad cop out.
I can't imagine how these people get so far off base, and keep pushing when confronted.
Gwendolyn
Hmmm...
She needs to find a legal way to take him down, like passing information about him to his enemies.
