Hell—A Halloween Story

Hell—A Halloween Story

A short tour in Hell.

I walked out of my house. It was a lively halloween night. I love every bit of it.

I just strolled down the street with the merriness of nature.

I saw people driving around and walking around in costumes. Sure, it was a normal day.

Trick or treating!

Forest, I thought, how was I in a forest instead of a city! I stepped on mushy soil and it stunk like musty hay. The surrounding was really dark but I could see myself and a tree. There was no sound, no sound to be heard. I wandered around and just saw a forest, a dark sky yet bright trees and I.

I heard a sound of a woman crying…I ran towards it. Oh poor thing! A mother was crying over her beaten boy. A boy was beaten to death by those people, the mother said. Amongst the trees and mushy soil. She couldn’t stop crying. I tapped her then she disappeared.

More sounds blared out! I turned and saw a field, a field of mourning parents to their dead sons and daughters who died of violence and injustice!

I ran among them. The sky was so dark but still I could see everything in the daytime. I couldn’t touch anyone. If I touched them, they would just disappear. I ran through the field of mourning.

“Sandra!” I heard a sound calling my name and then I just stood in a house…no it was a connection of houses through doors.

“What have you done, you pathetic son!” I turned and saw a young pretty woman was dragged downstairs by her dad screaming. I screamed and ran through many doors.

I ran through houses and houses.

“You disgraceful animal! You betrayed God!” A mother slapped her son incessantly. He was just trying on makeup and a dress.

She said he betrayed God! He betrayed god, you say!? For thousands of years many religious scriptures were written and then they were distorted by the greed of humans! You betrayed your own God! Humans!

I ran to another house and I saw a hallway into a gloomy stone hall. I stepped into the hall and the door disappeared. I shivered because of the temperature and the sound of shouting, moaning, screaming, and machinery.

I walked slowly in these labyrinthine hallways. I walked through the emptiness and the sound was far away and it was getting closer. I turned at one of the hallway intersections and saw a boy in his 20s walking past me. He was so pale despite his muscular body. He was whimpering “I’m sorry. I’m sorry…” without stopping. He just walked pointlessly.

I ran pointlessly in these labyrinthine hallways. I saw people walking past me just saying their apologies. I turned to another hallway. I saw a hallway of weapons. There were baseball bats, footballs, wrenches, crowbars, and many more. I ran into the room and saw a black serial words. “Death Is Nigh But Humans Want Death”. I ran out of the room and saw people fighting in these labyrinthine hallways with various weapons including fists.

I ran through them and I just heard. “Death Is Nigh But Humans Want Death”

I stood near a dark river. I could see the soil pathway. The sky was dark as always and I kept running along the dark river. Then, I saw dreams of teenagers on the paper, pictures, envelopes, trophies, pom-poms, … and oh, their dreams were shattered by those expectations. I kept running along the river and just saw everything sink into the dark river. Now the sky was also dark, but I could see a shade of blue and green like paint on the sky.

“Your days have passed; three scores and twenty years; death is near; you did nothing; no one owes you.” I heard someone singing far away like a weeping woman.

I stumbled on the cobblestone. I stood up and I just saw a mirror maze. I walked through the maze of betrayal. A boy deceived his girlfriend for money. A mother deceived her gay daughter by sending her to an asylum. A dad deceived his wife just for worldly lust. I walked through the maze. For how long have I seen these outrageous moments, humans just justified themselves and they were labeled good. Shame…Shame…

I had returned to the dark river again. The sky was still dark with the shade of green and blue. I just walked along the river of hopelessness. I saw its bank. I just slowly walked through it.

“Your days have passed; three scores and twenty years; death is near; you did nothing; no one owes you.” I heard that again but I kept walking to the river bank. The waters fell off the cliffside and I just saw dreams of us people getting swept away, by our own hands.

“Your days have passed; three scores and twenty years; death is near; you did nothing; no one owes you.” I heard someone singing far away like a weeping woman.

I opened my eyes again. I just stood near my house in my Catwoman costume.

Humans are their own Hell.

What a great day I had.
