complete at last
Apologies to those of you avidly following the story for the very long delay is posting the final chapter. I've had a bit of writer's block and changed my mind about the ending several times, but felt that you all deserved the story to be completed in some form. I hope that it has not spoiled your enjoyment too much.

At long last
I was quite pleased when I saw another installment of "Jo(si)e." I did have to go back and re-read the previous offering just to catch up on the story line.
I liked the response to Isabella Carlisle's veiled threats. Better to take the bull by the horns, than to have a tiger by the tail. It's good to see that Ms. Carlisle's reputation suffered as a result.
It was a nice surprise to find Joanne and Karen romantically involved and raising their children together. However, once that was established and the ‘Chateau du lac’ being up for sale, it seemed a given that they would buy it.
I love a happy ending and you provided one all neatly tied up with a bow and all the loose ends accounted for.

Happiness is being all dressed up and HAVING some place to go.

Tied up with a bow
Many thanks Patricia. Unfortunately there are still too many unscrupulous reporters working for the gutter press despite recent high profile courrt cases and one of the common targets now is trans people, so its nice to see people like Isabella's Carlisle get their comeuppance..
We all like a happy ending and Joanne and Karen seemed to have found that at Chateau du lac.

Thank you
for completing this wonderful story.

Now completed
Many thanks for your continued interest Kathleen and for chasing me up to complete the story. I hope it was worth waiting for.

Nicely done!
I've enjoyed following the harrowing adventures of Jo, Gillian. Though the beginning of the story was a somewhat familiar trope of filling in for his sister, it was refreshing to read how this trans woman found her way in business and in life. I think some trans women feel a need to explore relationships with the opposite gender. However, I believe that trans women find love is not necessarily a traditional concept. Karen was the ideal woman for Jo, partially because of her past bad experiences, and partly because of the kindness that Jo showed her.
Well done, Gillian! Thank you for wrapping up this story for us. Or is there more??? :DD TAF

No more planned just now Dee
Your comments are really appreciated Dee.
As you say traditional concepts of love are being stretched nowadays, it is very much a case of who you are happy and comfortable with, and is of no concern of anyone else.
Unfortunately I have no immediate plans for more adventures of Joanne, but you never know where my muse might take me.
Thank you,
Gill xx.
It was worth it
Every minute of the long wait, I mean.
And at long last, a trans person gets one over the vile UK media. Just a shame that it never seems to happen in real life.
Thanks for coming back to this story, Gill, and for giving Jo the happy ending that she deserved. Well written. xx

A long wait
Many thanks Rob, I'm glad you enjoyed the story and the happy ending.
The media does seem to like headlining trans stories at the moment, although IMHO some like Isla Bryson and Scarlet Blake deserve all the venom thrown at them and do not deserve any sympathy or protection just because they are trans.

From One Joanne
To another! A truly beautiful ending, though even that had a speed-bump with Darren.
They gave the nasty piece of a "reporter" her come-uppance, but what a shame that true-life events gave the UK Press another field day.
Thank you, Gillian.
A bit of a speed-bump
Despite the spped-bump with darren, Janne picked herself up, and ended up in a much better situation.
The gutter press always like to pick on stories of people that are not run-of-the-mill, whether its physical characteristics, extreme attitudes, outrageous behaviour, or sexual peccadilloes. At the moment LBG seems to be so commonplace that it is not newsworthy, but transgender seems to be the flavour-of-the-month (or not, depending which way you look at it) just now. Extremists getting people sacked or physically molested for trying to preserve women-only spaces do not do those amongst us who just want to get on with their lives any favours. The press love to mock or criticise those that they think are different and at present they are being given lots of opportunities.
