This is taking planning to a new level
All that is needed is to choose the sex and college. It looks like it does take a village.
Ron
Careful planning
Unfortunately Ron , it is still women that need to organise their career life around childcare. For most men , except in dire emergencies, career demands take priority. If Jo and Josie are both intending to have demanding careers, organising childcare, in the person of Karen, is a pretty good option and needed careful thought.

Life as Josie
This is such an interesting story, full of twists and turns. I just stop what I am doing,
and read the next episode, as soon as it appears. I know the area slightly, as I was raised
in London, and traveled out that way as a pillion passenger. But your description of the
Villa sounds very much like the one I visited near Portsmouth when I lived in the UK, but much bigger.

I appreciate your enthusiasm Polly
Many thanks for your comment Polly, I admire and appreciate your enthusiasm. There are numerous examples all around the country of excavated or reconstructed villas and forts from the Roman era, not so many from the anglo-Saxon and Viking periods and then a plethora from the Middle Ages and beyond, more than enough to keep history buffs happy. My personal Roman favourites are the forts and settlements along Hadrians Wall including Segedunum and Arbeia on the north and south banks of the Tyne estuary, along with the villa at Chedworth in Gloucestershire.

"Even if your career takes a nosedive..."
That is unlikely. Jo and Josie really do have an ideal setup with the job sharing arrangement. As you brits would say 'Brilliant!' And with a big house and Karen's help, it would be lovely to have cousins around the same age growing up. Did Jo 'pinch' Josie's job? Not really, but now Jo has a chance to help her sister get her career started while raising an infant. I'd say they're even! It really was remarkable that Maggie was able to keep Jo's secret, but I wonder why Josie never alerted Jo to the possible danger?
Jacqui really makes out in the job sharing arrangement, she gets two for the price of one. And now that Darren is on board with a baby, it seems as though Jo's life is finally going to settle down a bit. Great chapter Gill, thanks for sharing this wonderful story! :DD

Things settling down nicely.
Thanks for your comment DeeDee. Hopefully Karen will merge into Jo and Josie's family without any problems, and between the three of them looking after Clara, Karen and Jo's baby, and any future ones for them all, should be easily manageable.
We've just got to settle Jo's career path and journey to womanhood to complete the family saga.

At last!
Happy to see Josie finally moving forward with things. A good chapter, but my “spidey sense“ says there’s bound to be more bumps in the road ahead.
It's Not Over
Until the fat lady sings!
Who knows what pitfalls Gillian has in store for her characters....and for her readers. All I can promise with certainty is that I will continue to enjoy the journey.
The show is not over yet.
I really appreciate your comments and continued interest Dreamwweaver and Joanne. There are always bumps on the road of life, most are minor and easily ridden over, but there are also potholes ahich can cause untold damage.Joanne's path seems very smooth at present but the show is not over u til the fat lady sings.

Fun story
Wow, not sure- we should get married-let's have a kid all in a short time frame, seems rushed to me. If Karen is using her "eggs" that makes her the mother not a surrogate. Thats a whole different ballgame when the babies born.
Happy
Surrogacy vs motherhood
It's a confusing legal issue, in a way all suurrogates are mothers as they carry and deliver the baby before they give it up, whether it's using their own eggs or donated ones. However it can be argued that a mother is someone who raises and cares for the child. It's a debate about whether the birth mother or the adoptive mother is the one entitled to be called that, and gets even more debatable when the adoptive mother is transgender. Whatever the title to be used Jo and Karen seem content with the arrangement.
You're getting near the end of the story, keep with it and it will all come together. Thanks for continuing with the story, much appreciated
Gill xx.
