The Sisters compound:

Robi stood over the bed checking her semi-conscious patient’s pulse. She carefully watched the second tick off on her wristwatch as she counted heartbeats. Satisfied, her vital signs were close enough to normal, she jotted the information down on the victim’s chart. As she did, she quietly observed the small, still body on the bed hoping for signs she was regaining consciousness.

Previously: Dr Sam Greyson was kidnapped by Yvonne Logan and her group. During the kidnapping Thomas and Yvonne met for the first time since she was sent to quarantine. The meeting was brief and Yvonne left the scene with Sam in the car. Little do they know that Becket gave Sam her ankle monitor and the Sister's, with the help of SGT Russov, are using it to track the group down. Meanwhile Ellie is on a mission of her own.

Ammonia. The stink filled his nose making him choke, cough and gag. He tried to move his head away from it and after a brief moment of respite it was back. His eyes felt gummed shut as he struggled to open them. The foul smell returned to enveloped him for a third time.

The Colonel sat on the same rusted metal chair they’d tied him to however many days ago it was that he was “detained” by people claiming to be with the FBI. Same chair, same dank basement smelling concrete room same single light above him same no windows. The only thing that seemed to change was the number of cuts and bruises on his body. Through the fog and haze of pain, hunger and thirst he thought back over his time here.

It may have been a long time coming but finally I'll be releasing the next chapter of Acidalia. Hopefully this is exciting news, possibly no one will care :). Either way it should be out sometime next weekish. It's my hope after that to get another out approximately every other month.

San Francisco Monday August 7. 9:22pm

The testing center was packed full of perspective patients waiting as patiently as could be expected for their turn to be poked and prodded. Their faces, for the most part, were plastered with looks of a combination for boredom and anxiety. If one listened closely enough you could almost hear the hum of frayed nerves behind the constant onslaught of crying and coughing.

Thursday June 29 8:18pm Reynolds Quarantine Medical Center:

“What’s his condition doctor?” Colonel Jordon asked as he looked at the unconscious form of Major Brady through the four inch thick glass of the quarantine cell.

“I suppose, Colonel that would depend on your point of view.” Dr Stanly answered with what sounded like a small amount of amusement in her voice.

“Madam, I have neither the time for games, nor for a glib attitude.”
